Comments about TechNiche Hyperkewl Evaporative Cooling Vest:
submerge in your bathroom sink, zip-lock it, put it your saddlebag or whatever, and you'll have a ready to go vest when the afternoon temps get too hot to ride. At 97d.F it lost the cooling effect after 1 hour or so...pull in to a gas station and refilled from the sink, or open a bottled water into your zip lock and let it soak up again for a few minutes before you wear it again. You can do this all day long and stay cool. Sure its clammy, you just dumped a soaking wet vest/shirt onto your body. Start to ride, and your gladly accept that initial feeling for the coolness it provides. It's not freon folks, its not going to chill you to the bone..but I was always happier and cooler then my riding buddies who didn't have one. One useful tip, wear it UNDER a summer vented armored jacket or similar to get some milage out of it. Wearing it outside will wick away the water in it in a matter of minutes. I've worn mine for three summers, going on forth, and the stiching is intact and nylon zipper still works flawlessly. made here in USA with good thread. Blue & Gray, reversable(if you want to pull the zipper up from inside, not difficult to do. For the money, I think it's one of the few things in motorcycling that has value & truley lives up to its name. I love mine, and do I ever miss it when I forget to pack it in the morning when I start out. Water is cheap, get out there & ride!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Nice on the bike
Keeps me cool on the bike. Retains the water for several hours. Unsure if it is absorbing sweat. Wonder about the antifungal properties and if it is going to smell.

24 hours to dry?
from Sweetwater, TN
My bike has been in the shop since I bought the vest, but I soaked it, hung it out to dry on hot, sunny day in TN, about 3 PM. Next morning, it was still damp and cool to the touch. Took about 24 hours to get close to dry, in the ac'd house! I'll be using next week, heading out west, triple-digit temps expected, so THAT will be the real test.Fit was OK (medium), quality acceptable, shipping fast, priced right, especially with my bikebandit bucks!

This vest is great on hot days, even when working in the garage. It keeps me cool and comfortable when temperatures hit triple digits. When directions are followed your clothes will not get soaking wet. Clothes will get slightly damp, though less than you'd think. When you leave the vest dripping wet your clothes WILL get wet. One caution; effectiveness will be reduced in high-humidity areas.Putting the vest in the refrigerator is a nice trick.
