Comments about Chatterbox XBi2-H Plus Bluetooth Intercom:
I use it for my phone and radio and the sound quality is better than average, install was easy, too bad it is only for Bluetooth ready HJC Helmets and cannot be used on other helmets so with a helmet and bluetooth will cost you over 400.00 dollars.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Does the job
from New York
Wife and I use these on my sport tourer with pretty good wind protection. Also use it with my garmin zumo 660 and smart phone. They work fine for chatting up to around 60mph. After that you have to crank them up to have a chance at understanding what was said. Battery life at 8 hours is a bit short for all day rides. Music only plays if not paired to a second unit. Battery life playing music is only about 4 hours. Intagration with the HJC helmets is slick and compact but also limiting to that helmet. I ride 10 to 14 thousand miles a year and am on my third year with these units so reliability is good. I Plan on replacing our helmets this winter, and will be trying something else.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

SPEAKER PLACEMENT A CHALLENGE
from Fredericksburg, Va.
I use this on two HJC BT-MAX Modular Helmets. Installation was a breeze, but the speaker placement does not seem to be ideal as they are not aligned directly with your ears. The chin strap connection to the helmet seems to interfere with being able to do this. Audio quality is very good at low speeds, but when the wind noise picks up with the increase in speed, it is difficult to hear. I believe the volume should be a little louder, because if you were wearing earplugs (like you are supposed to do on a motorcycle, it would really be difficult to hear. Being able to place these speakers directly with the ear would help. Also, the connection of the unit in the helmet can sometimes be intermittent causing the sound to drop from the left speaker. Fidgeting with the unit (moving it in its socket) corrects this problem. One of the units shipped with a bad charging cable; called Chatterbox support and they shipped me another immediately, no questions asked.
