I bought these to replace a pair of A-Stars Super-Tech boots when the drawcord snapped. I did a great deal of research looking for boots that would offer similar protection, at a lower price that I could afford. These fit the bill perfectly! One review called them ski boots for riding, and I agree. The Sidi approach for protecting the ankles while still making it easy to get on/off works well. I must warn about the cams for the buckles! If you're not don't hold them out of the way, they can snag and rip your socks. The only other drawback I could find is that I wish the trim color on the vent and on the heel matched the color of the boot-blue in my case. The collaspable heel looks a bit odd the way it sticks out from the back of the boot, but it seems like it would do its job if required. The rest of the armor and protection parts also look like they would really work if needed, not that I plan on crash-testing them.As for fit, use the Sidi fitting guide. If you measure your foot reasonably well, you will find your size and the boots will fit. WARNING! Sidi sizes run small! My A-Stars were euro size 42; my Sidis are 'euro' size 43! Then again, that is exactly what I should be wearing, according to their fit chart.Did I mention that I think they look really cool? They're even reasonably comfortable for walking around, and standing for a short period of time.
