Comments about Shoei CX-1V Replacement Spectra Shield For RF-1000, TZ-R, and Z-11 Helmets:
Installed the blue on my Multitec. I use it day and night. The mirror reflection during the day is dark enough for the bright sun and I don't need my sunglasses. No problems at night, there is not much difference when I flip up the visor at night. As if it adjusts to the light. Perfect. UV A and B protection. Perfect.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Got the blue spectra shield. Dark enough so I don't need sunglasses during the day but not too dark for a short jaunt to the store in the dark. All the spectra shields are reflective, not just the mirrored version (contrary to what BB support said). Glad to have it over the clear shield.

Just what is needed in sunny Southwest!

I haven't used a tinted shield since I first started riding over 26 years ago and got caught out after dark with it. I've stuck with clear shields and sunglasses. However, the intense sun in New Mexico caused me to finally look into another one. I like the total UV-A and UV-B blocking ability of the mirrored shield which is what sold me. One ride and I'm a beliver. No more cooked face and less chance of skin cancer is a good thing. The temp inside my helmet was probably a good 10 degrees cooler than with the clear shield - maybe more. Anyway, its was comfortable, good optics, not too dark, not too light - Goldilocks! The shields now days are a breeze to swap so I'll take the clear along if I think there's a chance I'll be out after the streetlights come on.
