The Icon Variant Solid Helmet is a street helmet but with dirt riding in mind. Comments about Icon Variant Solid Helmet:
This is my first Icon motorcycle helmet and I have to say... Wow, I'm impressed. A friend suggested I try one after having for a few months. I had an Arai XD4 and thought it was a great motorcycle helmet. The problem I had with the Arai helmet was the visor. At speed on my KTM 990 the visor would vibrate and make a horrible buzzing noise. It was so bad that it would give me a headache even with earplugs in. This Icon Variant helmet is very comfortable, the shield provides excellent visibility, it is quiet and doesn't vibrate at all and it looks great. I've been a loyal Arai helmets for 10 years, maybe change is good...
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

It's a great helmet. It's crazy comfortable, it's cool looking, it's great for use on my dirt bike, and my street bike. I love this helmet. The visor change isn't a 9 second ordeal, and it feels like you might damage something while you're doing it, but other than that it's my favorite helmet I've ever owned. And that's saying something. I'll never go anything but dual sport from now on. My first ICON helmet, but my favorite so far. Would have been 5 stars if I didn't feel like I was about to destroy it when changing visors.
Excellent Helmet with Shoddy Components
from Milwaukee, WI
This is the second helmet I have owned by Icon. While I enjoy the styling and the comfort of the helmet, I've noticed that their hinge kits are lacking in durability. While attaching a different visor, the hinge kit snapped, leaving me with a brand-new broken helmet. Luckily, Icon has shoddy replacement kits available at a reasonable price. Caveat Emptor: You get what you pay for.
