With the popularity of sport and adventure touring at an all-time high, the advancement of the incredibly versatile modular helmet segment was a must for SHOEI engineers. Though still a respected part of our 2012 helmet lineup, the Multitec’s modular design was used as a backbone, analyzed with scrupulous eyes, and tweaked ever so slightly to yield the most progressive flip-up helmet on the market today—the all-new Neotec. Boasting improved shell aerodynamics, a wider and taller field of vision, a reduction in wind noise, an internal sun shield, and a fully removable, washable and replaceable liner system, the Neotec is the next level of modular helmet design for today’s hybrid motorcyclists.

Overall shell size is kept compact by incorporating the internal sun visor’s open/close mechanism inside; all ventilation mechanisms are shaped and positioned in such a way as to reduce any possible drag. A redesigned aerodynamic spoiler also helps to cut lift, reducing neck strain on long, cross country rides. All these features combine to create a premium helmet that excels in appearance, protection, comfort and performance.

The Neotec’s chin bar is connected to the same axis point and mechanism as its shield, minimizing extra parts. This also enables simultaneous closing of the shield with the chin bar, which is then held in place with an easy-open lock release button. The shield lock system offers secure closure or the ability to keep the shield slightly open to allow for increased airflow. With the Neotec SHOEI now includes a built-in sun shield, the QSV-1. The visor tucks neatly away beneath a non-intrusive shell built into the helmet’s liner, and can be lowered with the easy control of a sliding button.

-Easily operable lever mechanism

Comments about Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet:

My adult career has been in Quality Control & Quality Assurance (i.e. manufacturing). This helmet is superbly constructed. The interior materials are lush & the exterior is finished nicely. It's quiet...and doesn't fog if you use the face shield insert & attach the included breath guard...(and vent it properly if needed--of course). This helmet is very similar to Shoei's RF 1100 and adds more comfort in a modular design. If you can only purchase one helmet...buy this one!

Comments about Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet:

I have severe tinnitus and wear glasses.I wore this helmet the night I got it.Couldn't believe how quiet it was and the ease of wearing glasses in them.I don't have to wear earplugs in them, except for being able to hear the exhaust now on my dr650 with FMF pipe. The hjc isbt I had was horrible in both areas.Couldn't here the exhaust with the hjc cause of wind noise in helmet.I'll have to put the spark arrestor back in now.My head is a round 23" ,this is a large.Fit is good, could be tighter on forehead, cheek pads are tight,I could have gotten buy with a medium, but would have to adress the cheek pad issue. Can't wait to add bluetooth. Is it worth [$],yes if u want to keep your hearing.Don't do like me,I bought two $200+ helmets that were worse than my $125 AFX ds 39 .(The AFX is a great bargin @ $125)There's $525 + shipping and hassle.Buy this or one of the other high end helmets.

Comments about Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet:

I've used a Shoei modular helmet for over 20 years; so I thought it was time to upgrade. Bought a Nolan N104; bad idea! BAD idea.
The N104 is noisy, leaks air, large shell.
Although I don't like the price, the Neotec XXL may be the perfect helmet. Great air flow & fit, plush washable interior & D-ring strap, no air leaks, very quiet, stylish. I like the single release button & single hinge for the pin shield/chin bar. The smaller shell fits in my side case & the D-rings can be used to secure the Neotec to the bike.
Don't try to go cheap like I did (cost me $90).
Buy a Neotec the first time, you won't regret it.

Comments about Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet:

I switched from an old Shoei to this new Neotec. I was using it during slow riding in cool weather and rain and the combination of the pin lock fog-free lens and convenient tilt face shield, no fogging was encountered. The cheek pads kind of push in your cheeks a bit but that means it is snug and therefore quiet and won't move around. It's the bee's knees for helmets.
