    Average Helmet but Very Inexpensive

Comments about Skid Lid Original Solid Half Helmet:

I got this helmet on sale so it was a great price. I have a full face helmet that I use when riding alone, however I use the half helmet when I have a rider on with me. The rear strap just happened to fall across the back of my ear instead of going around it. The chin strap is also relatively uncomfortable. However, it is a good helmet for short casual riding.

Size note: If your head size falls right between the small and medium helmet sizes listed, go for the medium. My head was right at the very top of the small helmet size chart, but the medium fits more comfortably and still snug. However, realize that there are "round", "oval", and "long oval" head shapes which could affect the size/fit as well.

Bottom line: Inexpensive helmet. So long as it's useable, I'm happy.

Comments about Skid Lid Original Solid Half Helmet:

Looks good; can't beat the price. Onyl thing I don't like is there is nothing to secure the end of the chin strap and it flails around and beats up my neck. I'm going to get some velcro and fix it, but nowadays something to secure the end of the strap ought to be standard with any helmet.

I have been disappointed with the shipping lately. First couple of times I orderd from BB, things that were advertised as in stock and ususally ships in 24 hours did, and it only took a few days to arrive. Now it has been running to the upper end on every piece of the process and its been taking two weeks to get my orders - perhaps because I joined Podium and the free shipping is slower that what I used to pay for. I'm hoping things start improving soon....

Good helmet except for heavy weight

Comments about Skid Lid Original Solid Half Helmet:

The Skid Lid is heavier and is top heavy compared to my other half helmet. Fit is very good and the helmet is comfortable for all day riding, however, it would be more comfortable if it was lighter. I like the looks of the flat black and the helmet shape. The strap system works very well for me and the helmet is secure at speed, without any lift or shifting. Sizing is accurate. Quality of construction is fine. The half helmet is more convenient and provides a less confined experience than a full face helmet for stop and go riding. The full face helmet beats the half helmet for long distance higher speed riding. I bought this helmet for my wife but due to the weight I wear this helmet and my wife wears the lighter half helmet. I would pay a little more for a lighter half helmet and hesitate to recommend it due to the weight.

Thanks for your question! Please let us know your fitted hat sizing or head measurement in inches or centimeters and we can assist you in the sizing of this helmet. You would take this measurement right above eyebrow level.
