Comments about EVS BJ22 Ballistic Jersey:
I wear an X Armor muscle shirt underneath because i was getting some nipple chafeage, and I recommend wearing a jearsey just to help protect the mesh from getting ripped if you get snagged on a branch or whatnot.I've landed hard on my back, slapped my forearm/elbow and slid on this thing several different ways and I always win. Inspires confidence which may be a bad thing, since you do crazy things when you feel invincible. The forearms are a bit snug, but unless you're Popeye, it helps to keep the forearm/elbow pads in the right spot.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Not just for off road.
from Chicago IL Suburbs
I bought the BJ22 back in July of 2006. I use this item as outer ware in place of a light jacket, on warm days in the summer. I ride my bike to and from work every day that weather permits, and that is about 10.000 miles per year. I find that wearing the BJ22 circulates the air around the body better than just wearing only a shirt. This makes a HOT day more comfortable to ride. I also find that riding in the rain is more comfortable since I do not were rain gear. The BJ22 protects you from the stinging rain at high speeds, and than allows your undergarments to dry once the rain stops. I have now had this BJ22 for about 3 seasons and it is still like new after almost 30,000 Miles. I am now looking to buy a second one, only in case EVS decides to drop it from their lineup. This would be a big mistake on their part. I really love my BJ22 and would not ride without it unless I am wearing a thicker winter jacket on days colder than 50f. I call it "My body armor with Air conditioning" The BJ22 makes street riding safe and comfortable. I have been riding sport bikes for over 30 years and wearing the BJ22 I hope I will be riding them for another 30.

Has downfalls but still the best
from las cruces, nm
I have used this jersey for years now, I would'nt own anything else. But it does have it's downfalls...Here in the desert, I can not wear it in the summer because it is just too hot. The mesh on mine is totally shredded from mesquite, etc. The zipper broke awhile ago, but I wear a riding vest so it does'nt really matter. The velcro is still holding up pretty well. I dont use the arm straps because it cuts off circulation and causes arm pump. Despite all of this, I have seen all that is offered in this genre of riding gear and I think the EVS is the best design.
Comfy, but not light
from Los Alamos, NM
The shorter back piece, integrated kidney belt, and more durable stitching, solve my problems with my previous armor shirt (Thor Impact Rig), but this one doesn't breath as well. Pretty well ventilated, but still warm on a hot day. Adjustments and lots of flex keep it comfortable. Wore it all day with no problems.
