Comments about Troy Lee Designs CP 5955 Chest Protector:

IMPORTANT NOTE! Size is relative to height in design not weight/thickness. The straps expand significantly so the most important thing to consider is how long your spine is. I'm 6'1" less than 140 lbs and my girl is 5'6" less than 120 lbs. She got the medium and I got the large. They fit perfectly and the spinal coverage is a couple inches above the base. I tried the medium myself and it went several inches above the base with no difference in adjustability for belt size.

Me and my girlfriend both have these chest protectors and we love 'em! We live in AZ and I've already done a whole year out here with this thing on my CBR 600 F2. All you do is add extra layers in the winter with a wind breaker and then in the summer it's as low as you can go.

It breathes excellent but in the winter with the wind breaker it's the best armor you can get. It's incredibly comfortable too. After about 5 minutes I don't even notice it's there and my lady agrees.

We did ditch the upper arm protectors since they feel weird and look strange.

The ability to move in these is incredible as well. No restriction at all and it stays in place almost always. If it moves, it's not to an uncomfortable point either.

We added some Fox Titan series forearm and thigh/shin guards to these. We look pretty hot together, we get nothing but compliments especially about our level of protection.

Not sure if the money is worth offroad since you'll wreck it but you can repair it, it's very modular and as for the street, this is probably the best chest protector you could ever buy! You also won't slide as far lessening the chance of going into another lane which is a major plus IMO.

Excellent chest protector!

Very good quality, lots of adjustments. Husband says it's comfortable to wear. Very good protection. He has since ordered the neck brace to go with it. Highly reccomend both if you are racing. Well worth the extra money.
