Comments about Speed-way Motorcycle Shelters:
I purchased this shelter from a dealer, but I figured I'd write a review for everyone else who's thinking of purchasing this product. This is a great solution for someone in my situation, where I live in a cheaper apartment without garages. The shelter installed in a few minutes, with no tools. The few bolts and nuts included were wing nuts, so you could hand tighten them. The poles are color coordinated as to which top piece slides into the bottom/side piece, which makes install very easy. The shelter opens and closes very easy, and surrounds my bike perfectly. I have to park way to the right to compensate for the lean of the kickstand. I really like this shelter, and with the locking ability and concrete anchors, it keeps me at ease knowing my bike is safe from weather and potential thieves, without having a garage. I only have a few negative things about this product: 1. When the shelter is down, there is about 1.5-2 inches of space between the concrete and the pole, it doesn't sit all the way flat on the ground. The canopy overhang hides the gap, but dust can still get under it. 2. When I put a padlock on shelter, the way the holes line up allow the shelter to still open up some when you try to lift it, before your lock will catch. This could be due to the size of Master lock I used, but I bet I can still lift the gate up about 1 foot off the ground before my lock catches. It's hard to describe how the lock works, but it shouldn't allow for much movement if it's locked. All in all, this is a great product. It kept my bike dry in the rain, protected it in the wind, and gave me a sense of security. The vents in the top of the canopy let you park your bike and close and lock the canopy when your bike is still hot, which is great if you're in a hurry, or don't have time to wait for your bike to cool down for a normal cover. PROS: Great solution for lack of garage, kept bike dry and standing, also allows for storage of other things like small tool chest and windshield for bike.CONS: More room to move canopy when locked than I'd prefer to have, maybe a few more attachment spots for the canopy to the frame.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
