Comments about Tour Master Flex Motorcycle Pants:
I have 7000 miles on these pants this year and have ridden from 20F to 106F and road in a tropical storm with these pants. First the size, I purchased the XL-Long, I am 6'2" 200 pounds and wear size 34W x 33L jeans and the XL-long fit well and do not ride up on the calf. The knees have extra fabric on the front that allow them to roll nice over the knee. I do wear the adjustable waist loose and use suspenders to help hold them up. If you cinch the waist they will stay up but I like the waist loose. How they work, there are 4 layers to these pants. The main part that all the other parts attach to is a combination of mesh and solid panels with semi-rigid knee and hip pads that fit in various pockets to suit you leg dimensions. The next layer attaches to the outside of the main pant legs and is heavy synthetic fabric panels that spiral up your leg with zippers, covering all mesh areas. These outer panels will keep you dry in light rain. I wish the zippers on the outer panels were larger and heavier to make them easier to attach. The 3rd layer is a zip-in inner breathable waterproof liner that requires you the remove the pants and insert the liner. If you are riding in a tropical storm this is the liner you will want. The 4th panel is a quilted insulated pant the zips into and under the waterproof panel. I ride a Honda GL 1100I and have rode from Canada to Florida, and most of the North East this season. I road the Blue Ridge highway (200 miles of it) in a rain storm of biblical magnitude with a temperature of 40F and they kept me dry and warm. I do use a beaded seat pad for water drainage and ventilation. I also like being able to zip on the outer panels while on the side of the road. The small zippers on these outer panels is the only reason I did not give them 5 stars. The zippers are small and easy to catch on the liner and mis-align. I road I 95/81 from Florida to New York with a high temperature of 106 F in the shade. On this day I wore light cotton gym shorts under the pants and caught a nice breeze through the mesh. I rode in 20F cold weather and with all 4 layers on the pants are warm and draft free. I do like riding in the cold weather and like the cold in general. I roll up and store the panels and liners on the bike so they are always with me. There are two decent size pockets on the front and reflective piping on the pant legs. With the exception of the small zippers on the outer panels they are well made, durable and fit well. I have not washed them yet but after riding in the last sleet and rain storm all the dead bugs washed off. I am going to buy a pair for my wife If I can find the right size for her, she is 4'11'" and 85 pounds and rides everywhere with me.

I used these pants exclusively from California to the tip of South America. Of course if you want total rain proofing then the layer must be on the inside for good reason. Months in the equator and I was comfortable. Just walking around was comfortable too. Very good venting and easy to zip on panels that cover the mesh. I cant imagine putting on anything else on my adventure riding.

I have only used this once, thru heat and rain. Its a real hassle if you need venting and have to install the rain liner which of course you cant do without removal of pants, and then of course you need to reinstall the outer shell then for the proper coverage which is a crazy hassle too when your already dressed to ride.I kinda wished I hadn't bought this but I'm taking a trip to MN. the first of Oct. and perhaps I'll try this again and have more comfort in cool weather when I can just leave everything together.
