Comments about Scorpion EXO 400 Solid Full Face Helmet:
I have owned this helmet for 4 years and after 35,000 miles in I still love it. It is not the lightest helmet out there but due to balance and fit I have ridden many 1,000 mile days without hot-spots or neck fatigue that I have experienced with my old Arai. Great visual field and balance. Not the quietest helmet but well within reason. My biggest complaint is the lack of a lock mechanism to keep the visor opened for additional venting. I use a matchbook for this and it is a pain. I am going to replace this helmet with a Scorpion EXO 500 as the 500 has the lock and a inside drop down tinted visor without adding much, if any weight. I do not think any helmet comes close to the EXO 400 at this price point.
Great Buy!

Overall one of the best helmets I've owned, some say it's a little on the heavy side, but once on, I've done 800 mile days and not been sore in the morning. I must say the venting leaves something to be lacking on hot days, but then again the air is forced under the chin and into your face, almost like having the face shield open. That's fine on warm days, but on cold days I'd recommend getting the chin insert that blocks airflow. On the topic of cold days, hands down I absolutely love how in 40 degree weather I can breathe all I want and still not see anything resembling fog buildup on the inside of the helmet. On past lids I have not so fond memories of barely breathing and having to open up the face shield so I can de-fog whilst being blasted by cold air to the face. The only downside is that the inner coating of de-fogging chemical wears out after about 9 months, but by then there are enough dings and road wear that it's time to buy a new one anyway. But one of the best things I like is the safety rating, being both DOT and Snell approved, for the price, there is no equal. While the face shield removal system isn't quite as quick as advertised, it still works smoothly.
