Shoei Multitec Modular Full Face Helmet
By Mucker
from Long Island, NY
Comments about Shoei Multitec Modular Metallic Motorcycle Helmet:
I've been riding with Shoei since the '80s because they're excellent quality AND they're quietest helmets that I've ever worn. These days it's a no-brainer finding a quality helmet that's safe, but getting one that saves one's hearing from the damaging noise levels that occur at road speeds can still be a challenge. I currently own a Shoei RF1000 that's just a year old. I've wanted to own a modular or "flip up" helmet for a very long time, but I've read too many reviews in the magazines that said they're all significantly noisier than conventional full-face helmets. My brother has a Shuberth and he likes it's many features, but he has also declared it the noisiest helmet he's ever worn and really hates it. Now the new Shoei model came out and it's getting great reviews, so I decided to give it a try.WOW! The padding has been redesigned from previous Shoei helmets, so it's even more comfortable than ever AND it is as quiet as any helmet I've EVER owned or tried. In fact, it's quieter than the RF1000. Naturally, the flip-up feature is a great asset and the shield works as all Shoeis have for many years, i.e. great. Now I can stop to spit (you don't actually EAT the bugs, do you?), have a drink or just shoot the breeze, all without having to remove my helmet and it came with NO reduction in comfort or convenience.
Service and delivery comments:
You guys are great. Your prices are good and the AMA discount gives you the edge over the "low ball" competition.

comfortable helmet
By Spec7

Got this helmet after my other flip up fell from bike seat, it wasn't latched closed but I was surprised that the plastic hinge lock broke and the chin bar was totally out of position. Not a good indicator of safety after an empty fall from half the distance my head might travel to the pavement. The Shoei feels very comfortable has a very large eye port great peripheral vision, and a secure sounding metal latch system. This morning was chilly 40's as long as moving quicker than 30 mph I had no problem with fogging the face shield or my glasses with vent open. There is absolutely no lift at speed and I noticed that when behind a car in normally an area that would buffet helmet side to side this helmet is nice and stable must be something to the aero design. The helmet also seems to be lighter, overall this will be a comfortable long haul lid.
great selection good pricing
Best Helmet I've had

Didn't want to spend this much on a lid, but talking to friends that have them finally convinced me. This thing is quiet, fits great and the vision is great. It is easier to turn my head than with my previous Nolan modular. Also love the latch system, but would be nice if it had a sun visor standard.
Great customer service, great prices.
