I rode home from work wearing my 5 plus year old RF-1000, put on my just arrived RF-1100 and got back on the freeway to check out the claim that it is the quietest helmet they have ever made. They are not kidding! Definitely a noticeable difference. I really like the idea of a fully removable liner and the improved ventilation will be greatly appreciated this summer. This helmet was all day comfortable the first time I put it on and I would recommend it to anyone.

Nice Helmet

Compared to an Arai Profile-Chin vent is very good. When shut, no air. When open, fog disappears and eyebrows get an immediate breeze. Venting overall I prefer over the Arai Profile.The face shield locks in place very securely and easily. Prefer this over the Arai's system.As far as comfort goes, either one is nice. After two hours or so I will start looking for a place to pull over and take either one off for a few minutes. Wind noise between the two is also very similar.The most subjective criteria, looks, I also give to the RF-1100. But that is a very personal judgement.I bought this b/c it has the new Snell M2010 standard, fit well at a dealer, and I liked the shape of it and the colors offered. I've worn it for ~1000 miles now in hot and cold weather and it is very nice.

The best helmet for me!

This is my second Shoei RF-1100 helmet, this time in light silver metallic to match my Ninja 650r. It's very comfortable and quiet. It does all the right things at a reasonable price.

This was my first purchase from Bikebandit.[...]If you've done your homework you'll know this helmet is really great value for the money. This is my first Shoei after using Icon for a number of years. Overall the quality and comfort is really good and its the quietest helmet I've ever used which is a big plus in my books.
