The lightweight battery is much different than lead-acid type batteries and must be treated with different care. Some warnings that came in the box: never leave any electrical device on without the bike running for too long, always ensure your electrical system does not charge over 14v, and never put on a battery tender that is not made for LiFePO4. The battery does not come with any balance circuits to ensure it won't break down from use. These batteries are temperamental.

Reduced weight

I purchased one of these for my KTM 990 Adventure Dakar and was amazed by the reduction in weight from stock. It is also very nice that there is no dangerous acid in the motorcycle battery. Lead acid batteries are centuries-old technology and it is time we upgraded to something new. This technology is still in the begining stages for motorcycles but has been used in other areas for several years so I am giving it a try.
