I selected these boot for an adventure on the Trans America Trail. One pair of boot I had were more for on road and the other pair I had was geared more toward MX. The Discovery Rain is the perfect Dual Sport boot. The sole offers good traction in the slow muddy stuff. They offer good protection for your feet and lower legs without feeling like your fitted in concrete casts. Weight is a little under many of the other available options which is nice on an all day ride. The fit is perfect for me but keep in mind I have always seemed to fit better in Sidi boots than others I have tried. Water never was a problem as I road through a lot of rain and numerous water crossings. You can buy a cheaper boot but I'm not sure that you can buy a better one for my purpose. At this point I can't speak negatively at all about these boots. They continue to perform well and are holding up fine.
