Initially, I wondered why this simple devise weighed so stinkin' much. Once put to use, however, it didn't actually matter.

I had read about other chain breakers made of lighter materials bending or being ineffective. This tool made shortening my 530 chain very easy. So easy in fact that I thought I was doing it wrong until I removed the tool and saw it had done the job correctly.

The red color makes it easy to locate in the tool box. The two moving parts make it easy to understand. The weight was heavy but made a useful club when after replacing my chain I found two more things I needed to fix on my bike.
