Good looking tire

By Spliefer

Comments about Avon Venom R Motorcycle Tire:

I replaced the orginal Dunlop on my HD V-Rod with this one. So far it handles great and looks great as well. Now it is time to switch out the front and I will stick to the Avon

Sticky and (relatively) quiet

By OdinF6

from Marietta, GA

Comments about Avon Venom R Motorcycle Tire:

Since I burned through the OEM set of Dunlops on my 1997 Valkyrie, I have been running the Avon Venoms and been very happy with them. The original Dunlops were too hard - under acceleration, I could feel the rear tire slide. Cool to look at, but I never wanted to push those tires on the mountain roads.
With the Avons on the bike, I am comfortable taking curves as far as the bike can lean (and then some) - keeping up with many of my sportbike buds. I'll take the short lifespan of the tires to avoid lowsiding and possibly shortening my own lifespan.
Pros: Sticky, stable, and much quieter than the Dunlops that came on the bike
Cons: Wear out pretty quick (I average just under 3 trips to Deals Gap on a rear tire), appear to be in the process of being discontinued and replaced with the Avon Cobra.

  • Q:

I have a 07 Victory Kingpin Tour. The original (out of production) Dunlop gave me 10,000 miles. The "new"Donlop gave me 6,000 miles. My current Metzeler ME 880 Marathan only gave me 4,000 miles!! I ride daily to work on flat, straight roads. Which Avon tire would be best? OR I have seen several BMW bikes with what looks like a regular flat car tire. Can something like that be put on my bike since I always wear the center 2 inches off?

Thank you for your question. Not recommended to run a car tire, drastically changes the bike ergonomics. The Avon Venom R tire is specialized for high mileage, and available in the size needed for the Victory Kingpin Tour.

Thanks for your question! With our shipping on tires that would be $7.95 for the whole order, there would also be a $4.95 per tire on the order, these would take about 2-5 days to get in hand.
