very poor tire life
from North Jersey
Comments about Continental Conti Milestone Motorcycle Tire:
This was the first time I tried a Continental. I ride solo most of the time. The previous tires used were 2 Dunlops and 1 Metzler. They each had an average life of approximately 10,000 mi. to the wear bars. This Continental wore through the cords in 5,400 mi. I suspect the tire is defective. And would caution anyone using this tire to inspect it very often. Alan
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

In over 800,000 miles of riding, I have always used Dunlops or Bridgestones. There are few choices for my older bikes because of limited clearance issues. The Milestones stick like a soft compound, are great in the rain, and wear like the much harder "touring" compounds. They also do not dance around on grooved roadways. I currently have over 9,000 miles on a set mounted on my '82 Spectre and have at least 50% of the tread left. Will most certainly purchase these again.

I have a 2004 Honda Shadow Sabre. The stock rear tire wore out in 6,000 miles, it's traction on wet pavement wasn't great. If accelerating hard when shifting from first to second gear the tire would actually chirp quite loudly. With the Conti Milestone (I now have 5,000 miles on it a year later with no significant wear), it grips exceptionally well on wet pavement and doesn't chirp, just digs in and surges the bike forward. I like it so much that I wanted to replace the front tire with a Conti Milestone, but they don't make it in my bikes size 120/90-18. So I just ordered a Conti Tour tire which is listed here at Bike Bandit as an alternative front tire for the rear Milestone tire.

I have an 04 Shadow Sabre (1100) and the original tires have never given me more than 8000 miles. I have just finished 8000 miles on this tire and there is greater than 50% treadwear left.
