The Roadtec Z8's great wet road performance puts it ahead of the competition.
-Final footprint area is 8% wider than its predecessor
-Variation of steel belt tensions & strategically-placed tread pattern optimizes pressures in footprint
-Great mileage due to tread pattern, wider elliptical footprint, & wear-resistant technologies
-Tread pattern reduces front tire land-sea ratio to 11% and the rear tire land-sea ratio of 13%
-Longitudinal central grooves provide ideal drainage for more than 3/4 of all lean angles in the wet
-Tread grooves work to add tread flexibility, extending the footprint for stability in the dry
-Excellent wear regularity to give you consistent.

Comments about Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact Motorcycle Tire:

Since the z6 is out I figured I would try the Z8's before going to Pilots. I am happy that I did. These tires corner great! I did not have the same trust in the Z6's that I do with the new Z8. I only have 500 miles on them and ride everyday in So. Cal. Traffic so I have to see how long they last. The tires are wider than the Z6's and tend to allow for full lean turning under power. It is like being on the track just flying down the freeway. Banking on the turns now is a little more fun.

Comments about Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact Motorcycle Tire:

I don't doubt Metzler has some of the best technology, but I'm not that impressed with the Z8 especially for the price. Handling and traction were great. However, my rear sliced a hole on the gravel with 4k on it and they still haven't worked out the cupping issue on the front which causes hum and buzz at a slight lean. Fitted on 2010 Concours 14.

Comments about Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact Motorcycle Tire:

Have over 6k on them now, 2.7k 2-up-heavy trip to Maine, 1.8k solo trip on Blue Ridge Parkway/Smokies, rest commuting. Tread life is very good for a mono compound.
Tires flat spotted a bit on the 2-up trip, but are wearing fairly even across the radius.
Very good in the turns on this bike. Turn in is predictable and smooth with wide or tight turns.
The Z8 is NOT straight line stable, always wandering a bit from side to side, have to keep aware.
Motorcycling for me is about the turns, so I will be getting another set soon.

      • Q:

I see where many of the few tires that fit my bike, (180 or 170/60 R17), come in "tubeless" offerings. Since I have a spoked rim that uses an inner-tube, I was wondering if it's ok to use a tubeless tire with a tube on a spoked rim.
