    Great Tire!!

    By Walt

    from Redding, Ca.

Comments about Metzeler Tourance Motorcycle Tire:

First off, great tire, Ive had a chance to read the reviews and all are true, this will be my second set for my 05 GS. Ive had a chance to ride these tires across the U.S. from N.California to Illinois to see family. I did this in the spring of 2014, through freezing cold and down poor's in Missouri. The trip was on secondary roads. The tire performed great, I think best in the driving rain. Most of my riding is on secondary roads, dirt/gavel as well. Its a great tire.

The web site is easy to use and the service I have received for Bike Bandit was (Good)

Comments about Metzeler Tourance Motorcycle Tire:

These tires are used overwhelmingly for street riding on a 2009 BMW F650 GS. They perform as advertised and expected on this bike. I did a lot of research and found BikeBandit has the best price for these tires, and they were delivered within 2-3 business days.

    • Q:

Use with tube followup. I saw the answer recommending using bias ply tire with tube. Bias ply is listed as an option for front tires but not rear. Would it be OK to use a tube with a radial rear? If not, why? Thanks

        A:

Thanks for your question! It is not recommend to use a Tube in a Radial tire because the friction on the tube inside the tire can cause tire/tube failure.

Thanks for your question! The R rated tire would be good for up to 106 mph while the H rated tire would be good for up to 130 Mph.

      Use with tubes?

These are tubeless tires, can I use them on my Triumph Scrambler that has spoked wheels with a tube?

        A:

Thanks for your question. You can use tubes with tubeless tires. However it is not recommended to use tubes with a radial tire. This tire offers options in both bias ply and radial.

      metzeler tourance

It says the speed rating is "R", what speed can it be used for? I checked a chart and didn't see an "R" rating.

        A:

Thanks for your question! With the R rated tires that would be for 106 mph, now when they do the speed rating how they test it is they run the tire at that speed for an hour and a half, so as long as you dont ride more than an hour and a half at speeds over 106 mph this would work out great for you.
