> USAGE: 90% ON / 10% OFF
> Made for big-bore DP and Enduro bikes that spend most of their time on paved roads, but that take the occasional “detour" down a particularly inviting fire road. The Tourance was specifically developed to deliver the traction, feedback and stability for both kinds of road.
> Large “powerful" tread blocks in middle section ensure stability/long wear
> Distinctive block arrangement/configuration greatly reduce rolling noise
> Tread grooves, designed with widely variable widths, evenly displace water to greatly reduce aquaplaning
> Available in bias-ply and some radial sizes that feature Metzeler’s famous 0° steel-belted construction and V speed ratings (to 149 mph)

    Great Tires

    Cons

    • Not for mud

    Best Uses

    • Light off-road

Comments about Metzeler Tourance Motorcycle Tire:

Tourance's are a great compromise tire for big dual sports like the GS. They are surprisingly good on gravel, fire roads, dry trails and relatively firm surfaces. Not so good in mud, where they quickly become slicks. Give great mileage and handle well right down to the wear bars.

Comments about Metzeler Tourance Motorcycle Tire:

I replaced a Tourance that was starting to cup and had some cracks in it due to age.
Previous tire was 8 years old and about 1/2 gone. New Tourance had a smooth confidence inspiring feel to it. I let a friend ride my Vstrom and he said I feel like I have been riding this bike for 5 years! Great Metzeler product! Very good tires!

        • Q:

Use with tube followup. I saw the answer recommending using bias ply tire with tube. Bias ply is listed as an option for front tires but not rear. Would it be OK to use a tube with a radial rear? If not, why? Thanks

            A:

Thanks for your question! It is not recommend to use a Tube in a Radial tire because the friction on the tube inside the tire can cause tire/tube failure.

        • Q:

          Use with tubes?

These are tubeless tires, can I use them on my Triumph Scrambler that has spoked wheels with a tube?

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

Thanks for your question. You can use tubes with tubeless tires. However it is not recommended to use tubes with a radial tire. This tire offers options in both bias ply and radial.

It says the speed rating is "R", what speed can it be used for? I checked a chart and didn't see an "R" rating.

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

Thanks for your question! With the R rated tires that would be for 106 mph, now when they do the speed rating how they test it is they run the tire at that speed for an hour and a half, so as long as you dont ride more than an hour and a half at speeds over 106 mph this would work out great for you.
