Comments about Pirelli MT 16 Motorcycle Tire:

I ride a Honda XR 400 R in New England for Enduros and Turkey runs. It has a White Brother's exhaust system and an Edelbrock "pumper" carb. I use the Perelli MT 16 tires in the front and rear. For the early spring when it's wet and muddy I use the 120/10-18 on the rear; when the season gets dry I switch to the 110/100-18. A few words of caution; these rear tires are bigger than the standard Dunlops even though they have the same "size" rating. I changed the stock 45 tooth rear sprocket to a 48 tooth to compensate for the larger tire OD. Also, the stock rim lock can't handle the traction, the tire will slip on the wheel; I replaced it with a larger size. Finally, for changing these rear tires I use 3 MotionPro spoon type tire irons ( from Bike Bandit) and Windex for a lube. View the BB video on tire changing, it's very helpfull.

MT16 ROCKS!!

By Viperdan

from Oxford MA

Comments about Pirelli MT 16 Motorcycle Tire:

I have this tire on a WR450F 05 and I tried a lot of tires on this bike and this is the one!! I went up to the 120 -18 for the first time, and it hooks up. I ride in New England and we have a mix of rocks TONS of roots and MUD this year!! I have not once got stuck slid out or had a scary moment. I came back to buy and other to get ready for next year. I ride 2 times a week about 3 solid hours of ride time, and this has been on for almost 9 weeks and is half worn. I came off the 604 it was BAD news.. I can do crazy wheelies now when I use to spin.. BUY THIS TIRE!!

This tire hooks up like it was glued to the ground. My bike would not turn well but after the MT 16 IT RAILS THE TURNS!

    Best Tire.

        A:

Thanks for the question. The rear has 21/32" tread depth and the front has a 15/32" tread depth. Pirelli states that this is a Intermediate-Hard designed tire.
