SV650 commuter with miles on these
from SF, Bay Area, 680 corrridor
Comments about Pirelli Scorpion Trail Motorcycle Tire:
I got 12,000 miles on the rear tire by riding conservatively on a 50 mile R/T daily commute. So I bought another. Front will have to be replaced in the next 3,000 miles probably.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Superb for road use
By Old guy
from Bremerton, Wa.
I bought these tires for my DR650 Suzuki two years ago mainly by their looks. I was looking for a dedicated road tire; these tires NAILED IT. I Could not have been happier. Smooth, quiet, and very capable on the road. I personally do not need a substantially capable off road tire. Solid fire roads are as wild as I get now off road (50 years riding has calmed me a lot). I sold the DR with about 2000 miles on the tires, and went to a road bike. I missed the combo of the DR with the Pirelli's so much, that I traded back for another DR650, and can hardly wait to get the Pirelli's on it. I love this tire.

Avoid offroading with this tire. I punctured the front on a limestone gravel road when it was 50% worn (with 40 psi). No nails or metal, just a clean puncture. The carcass is not thick enough for roads/trails with rock or angular gravel.
Update on Pirelli Scorpion Trails
By NorCal Ulysses Rider
from Lassen Co., CA
After over 1000 miles in less than a week of riding, I can honestly say these are THE best tires I've ever had on my Buel Ulysses! Rode them HARD on mountain roads (CA Hwys. 89 & 49, for those in NorCal). On my loaded-to-the-gills XB12XT, I was scraping pegs on sweepers, dancing through the twisties, and at the end of the day, confidently motoring up a gravel road. If you ride a dual-sport, look no further. These are the tires for your bike. Durability? After 1K, I've barely scuffed the surface.
