Great tire for Street/ Strip

By Greesemonkee

from Ohio

Pros

  • Great Traction
  • Large Contact Patch
  • Quick Warm-up

Cons

  • Poor Cornering

Best Uses

  • Racing
  • Street Riding

Comments about Shinko 003 Stealth Motorcycle Tire:

This is an amazing tire. For the price there is no way you'll find a better deal. However, keep in mind this tire is for street/ strip use. If you're that kind of rider, you'll fall in love with this tire. The tire warms-up quickly and has a large contact patch (with no lean angle).
This tire is not for riders that turn hard with steep lean angles. It becomes squirrelly and unpredictable.

Comments about Shinko 003 Stealth Motorcycle Tire:

from the reviews that i read before buying this tire i was extremely excited to get it. after the scuff in period i found it grips well in rain and dry conditions but not quite as well as my bridgestone bt020 did. my front michelin pilot power is actually sticky to the touch after 20 miles on the highway compared to the stealth(which is not).i am a vigorous rider in florida so the roads get quite hot and i am frequently forced to ride in the rain. 5 stars for price 3 for qaulity so it gets a 4. metzler m-1 is what i am gettin next.

    • Q:

The order page on your website doesn't seem to differentiate between a soft and super soft compound rear Shinko 003 Stealth tire. I see two different prices for a 200/50/zr17 W but neither designates which compound it is. I prefer the super soft compound. Is it the $150 one?

Tire choice for track day and occasional road use...

Hi, I'm looking at the Shinko 003 stealth tires for track day and occasional road use. I have a Ducati M750 with 120 60 17 and 160 60 17s. Will the harder Shinko 003 be OK for the track (as the soft is not available in the 160 60 17 size) ? would you recommend a different tire ? or would you go for a soft front and regular rear in the 003 ?

      Thanks

        A:

Thanks for your question. We are not listing a Shinko 003 style tire in 160/60-17. We would not suggest using two different model tires for the front and rear. Another Shinko model that we would recommend is the 010 Apex Radial which is available in the 160/60-17.

      Compound difference

      Hi.

I want to know what is the difference between the soft and super soft compound.

and what would you recommend for more street usage than track.

      Thanks

        A:

Thanks for your question! When your ordering the Shinko 003 Stealth Motorcycle Tire you would want to go with a super soft for track days but if you do mostly street riding you can go with a soft compound and that would work out great for you.
