Comments about Tour Master Quest Pants:
I normally wear a size 34, so size L (34-36) would normally have been fine. However, I ordered one size up, probably to be safe, and partly due to my experience with Fieldsheer jackets (yes, I know this is an entirely different brand).I don't regret it though, because while size L would have been snug, size XL is great for me in terms of comfort. It's a wee bit loose, but that can be easily fixed with a belt, and is not annoying even without a belt. The position of the knee armour can be adjusted, so there are absolutely no problems with this size. The advantage of being a little loose is that taking a leak on the side of the road (one of the pleasures of being a man ;) is a hassle-free procedure. The pants feel comfortable enough that I forget I'm wearing them after a while on the bike. Protection against the elements seems good too, though I haven't yet been in any extreme conditions (hot, cold, or rainy) yet. I have no doubts this will stand up to the challenge though. The only minor complaint I have is that the pockets seem too shallow. All in all though, a decent buy.
good value

I live in Pennsylvania and wanted a warm, comfortable but reasonably priced pant for the winter. So far, this pant has been great. They run a little big...I am a 34 waist but the large was too big. Medium fits great but is a bit short in length. Overall, can't beat the price.
NOT Waterproof

I got these pants because they seemed like a bargain. When I got them I found:-Waist was waay to big. A belt is hard to use because there are only 4 loops and the belt falls off when not in use.-Pants were too short, exposing the backs of my calves when seated, even with normal boots. (I am a 33x32 and got the 34)-Thigh armor binds when seated.-First ride in the rain and I have a wet crotch. Nice.In summary, if you are short, fat, stand alot when you ride and live in the desert, these pants are for you. If not, there are better choices out there.
