EBC Semi-Sintered V Brake Pads

EBC Semi-Sintered V Brake Pads are the newest offering from EBC and are a great option for Heavy Duty and Touring applications. Being a semi-sintered pad containing 30% copper by weight, the V-pad combines the benefits of the "feel" of an organic pad plus the low heat generation and rotor galling features that organics have with the lifetime of a sintered pad.

All EBC Organic and compound of, brake pads now incorporate backing plates which are patented with the Nucap NRS hook retention system. This guarantees zero chance of brake pad de-bonding with corrosion or extended use. The EBC V Brake pad range are designed for the heavy cruiser/streetbike market as a replacement brake pad. EBC recommend these brake pads are not used for track or race use.

Features

  • Pad features a medium-high coefficient of friction
  • ECE R 90 approved approved and TÜV tested
  • Organic compound with longevity
  • Can be used to replace organic or sintered
  • Heavy streetbike cruiser brake pad
  • 100% ECO friendly
  • sold as a set

after researching the different options available for my ripping '83 V65 i opted for these as they seemed not too aggressive to wear down the rotors, and not too soft so they would wear early.. in between. Guess we'll see how well they stop my bike.

Do they operate quietly....No screeching or other noises?
      None on Mar 29, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the question. The make up of this pad does make it a quiet operating pad. As long as they are properly installed and the rotor is clean & in good shape there should no unwanted noises. do the pads come with new hardware for install?
      Steve M on Jan 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There shouldn't be any hardware necessary for a simple brake pad replacement. They just slip in to replace the old ones. If your old clips that hold the pads in are bent or worn out just order new ones from a dealer. The majority of replacements don't require new clips or parts so it's unrealistic to expect the vendor to include them with the pads.
how many sets of pads do i need? Is it two sets per side?
      Tim K on Apr 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: One set per calliper. If your front brake has two rotors you will need two sets. If it only has one you will only need one set.
Do these come with template and grease?
      Rich B on Mar 16, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the question! This would be just the pads only.

do sintered pads wear disks faster than organic pads?
      rick b on May 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Rick, thank you for the question. Yes, technically this is true. If you are a weekend warrior type of rider like me you might not notice a huge difference, but someone who is on the bike a lot more often and rides at 110% will. Regardless, semi sintered is a great option. A shopper on Oct 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for the question. If you're looking to replace front and rear, it'll most likely require three sets. For quality assurance, please provide us with the exact year, make and model of your machine. We will look into it and confirm. Is there a difference between type A and B and which one would fit my motorcycle?
      Kylie R on Apr 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Thank you Kylie for giving us info on your bike, what you see on the pads is not a type A or type B. When you order a set of pads, both A & A will be included. Pad A will go on one side of the brake disc and Pad B will go on the other side. Please keep in mind the left and right side brake disc require different pads. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll free at 1-888-339-3888. A shopper on Nov 2, 2019

Are front and rear brake pads the same on 2012 triumph tiger 800xc? Should I keep similar lining material on both front and rear? It looks like I need one brake set for each rotor - 3 sets total.

      Always buy EBC
I have used EBC for many years and have always had good service. They were even recommended by my Honda dealer for my Goldwing. They stated they were just as good and a lot cheaper than factory brake pads.

      Noticeable improvement over stock compound
I've had these on my bike for 3 weeks now. They seem to have more braking power over the stock compound. And they're also quiet. My organic pads made noise the whole time I had them. I bought these for their longevity also. Only time will tell for that.

Should have Bought the Softer Pads.
I should have gone with the softer material pads for my application on my older BMW RT. The metallic ones take a bit longer to run in than the softer pads.
