EBC Sport Carbon X Brake Pads

EBC Sport Carbon X Brake Pads contain high strength Aramid fibers, these are man made high performance fibers, used widely for their lightweight, high strength, abrasion resistance and thermal stability. The Carbon X Pads carbon graphite formula has been the choice of top enduro and moto-x riders for certain conditions around the world. The main advantage of this type of material is its lack of heat generation or conduction, which keeps both the rotor and caliper cool.

Although the Carbon X or TT Brakes will not outlast a sintered copper brake pad it has the unique benefit of lower heat generation and transfer. When riding off road in fast dry conditions such a feature is a major benefit. In our years of listening to the faster riders we have seen cases where the rear brake rotor can be glowing red in night rides which shows just how hot trail braking can get a rotor.

Features

  • Lowest heat generation
  • Lowest price point EBC pad
  • Best for fast dry riding; not recommended for mud, water or sand
  • Carbon graphite "X" pads blended with Aramid for leisure/sport use
  • Available for most popular SxS models

I prefer these over all the others due to the fact I have never experienced brake fade from them. They've worked well for the whole family in dry and wet conditions. Anything else I usually experience brake fade in the first hour of any enduro. The Carbon X brake pads will always wear faster than any of the others, but I'd rather have that than brake fade and squeaking in the woods.

Great Brakes
I had these same brakes on the rear of my bike, and also use EBC on my truck. So when it came time for fromt brakes on my bike, I wasn't going to use anything else. EBC is great quality, and stops you very well. Just like in the product description though, these pads are for dry riding conditions, and don't work as well when riding in wet or muddy conditions. They still work, but performance is reduced. Overall im happy with these pads.

Love this compound
I've been running these on my dirt bikes racing hare scrambles for a few years. They do very well with heat dissipation, really helping avoid late race brake fade (on the rears) when I find myself getting sloppy and over using the rear brake or accidently dragging the rear brake. They seem to wear very well (last a long time). Although the specs indicate that they are not intended for wet/muddy conditions, I just haven't found that to be a problem. I often ride in very wet and muddy conditions and I haven't noticed any issues.
Your results may very. I'm a "C" rider, mid-packer, racing east coast scrambles (hard, rooty, sometimes very tight woods).
