Product Details

EBC XC-Series Contour Rotors. The steel used in the EBC X and XC rotor blades is a special stainless steel blend that boasts up to a 10% improvement in friction effect, over that of normal heat-treated stainless steel found in stock rotors. They also boast up to a 5-10% reduction in total weight, by using a 6 only button drive system on a lightweight alloy center hub.

The SD-System™ uses square sided buttons and rivets so that the rotor can expand inwards and outwards, unrestrained and so that rotor functionality is retained at any speed or load; this extends the lifetime of the rotor and prevents distortion failures. Keeping the rotor blade true and flat throughout its life cycle, allows a 5-10 times longer life, compared to a conventional rotor built with circular buttons.

  • Floating brake disc with a radical, profiled contour brake rotor ring
  • Brake disc design reduces weight and increases brake effect
  • Brake disc center hubs are forged aluminum
  • Rotor construction uses high-friction billet steel
  • Universal left- or right-side application
  • Select front rotors available with SD-System™ of square-sided buttons that allow the rotor to expand inwards and outwards unrestrained for perfect rotor functionality at any speed or load and increased durability
  • Select front rotor application now available with polished brake disc center hub, see chart

Good experience with EBC brake pads in past. OEM rotors would not pass Maryland inspection. Life depends on them, so willing to spend a bit more.

OEM rotors are far too expensive, and I like the weight reduction with these rotors.

Am I reading it correctly that this is both front rotors and one rear rotor for $133?
Jared on Sep 1, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The rotors are sold individually. If you need all three, the quantity is 3.
If i select the quantity as 2 for the front, do i get the left & right ? or just the left .. as the description says .. brake front, & and brake front left.. it doesnt say brake right.

Discontinued by the manufacturer.
Probably works very well, but has been discontinued by the manufacturer. A few still available here and there. Didn't like the appearance of the scalloped edge, but that's my personal opinion.

Pay close attention.
This is not a full floating rotor. It is a contour rotor for the BACK of the Kawasaki ex500.
That being said, it is performing very well. With new rotor and pads the back brake is back to what it should be.
Will be purchasing the full floating contour for the front as well.

heavier than stock rotor
This looks like a very good rotor. Is thicker than the stock unit so should last longer. It fit perfectly. Is winter, so have not used it on the road yet. In general, have had very good luck with ebc products,

Works as advertised
Installed these on a '99 CBR600F4 I recently purchased. Product works as advertised, at least so far. I'm still in the break in period. Nice to have reliable & predictable brakes again. Much cheaper than oem especially if you're an AMA member.

The Jury is still out
Both of my stock rotors where warped, not sure how that happened, but at 43K miles there were depth ridges forming between disc swept area and non-swept area; they were getting thinner in other words. OEM prices outrageous. so EBC seemed to be a well priced alternative. I put these on my C-14 and followed the break in procedures given by EBC. The braking power is the same as stock but I am experiencing a shudder just before the bike stops completely, maybe a half rotation of the wheel. I can live with it, but wonder why it does it. There is no pulsing just that last millisecond shudder. I thought it might be part of the bedding in process but to date and with over 600 miles on the rotors it appears that it'll be there forever. Otherwise they feel great in all stopping/slowing situations, no different than the stock discs' and so much more affordable.

I bought one pair of these last year, and after they had set in with the new pads, I found they were warped. I got good service from Bike Bandit and was able to return them. Unfortunately, I thought that maybe I had gotten just a bad set and ordered another this spring. This time I checked when I put them on, and though one of them was near the limit for run out, I ran them for a few hundred miles to let them set in. After the run in the brakes began the pulsing that is indicative of warping. I tried to get them returned though Bike Bandit and was told I had to contact EBC, because it had been too long. I was assured by Will at EBC that if I sent the receipt information they would take care of me. After sending the information and following up, no response.

I would not buy any brake parts from EBC, and I'm wondering if I should still be doing business with Bike Bandit.

Great Upgrade
I had to replace my stock rotors on my '99 VFR. I figured brakes are a bit important, so I'd spend the extra money to get good ones. I was not disappointed with the wave rotors. Unbeleivably better than what I had before. Smoother, better stopping power... it's almost a whole new bike. Totally worth the money, if you can find it.

EBC XC-Series Contour Rotors
I installed this on my 1996 gsx600f katana, and I have to say I love it. The stopping power is the best and most of all no squealing. I can't wait to get the front.
