Can I use a portable jump starter to charge this battery?
BenVC on Oct 1, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Not to charge the battery. The jump starter can start the bike in an emergency. You will need a charger with a trickle charger, or a 1.5 A slow charger. Below is a link to the battery chargers rated for motrocycle batteries:

Good battery at a great price
This is my second WPS battery and this one I purchased for a Honda that I am working for a friend. The acid supplied is spot on quantity (Don't spill any), and the battery was quick to reach a peak charge with no issues. An economical alternative to many other batteries with the same quality and performance.

Best battery for the $$$
Purchased for my '86 Yamaha Maxim 700. It fit perfectly. Only down side is I had to wait 24 hrs. before I can use it because I had to fill it with the prepackaged acid and charge the battery myself. So I took it to my local Autozone and they slow trickle charged it for 18 hrs. for free! After that I placed it in my bike and it started right up! Took it for a ride right there and then.

good product i would buy it again
Good product for the price. Not real thrilled that i had to fill it with acid, but it was premeasured and pretty simple to do.So far the battery seems to be working great on my vulcan 750.

BETTER than Yuasa (OEM)
I hope it's not too early to place this review but here we go...

Big plus: The acid package that comes with this battery is extremely well made. I filled this battery with acid without a SINGLE SPILL, NOT EVEN A DROP. Comes with a little red 5" red hose that you cut the bottle's tip a tad and insert the hose and dispense the acid.

It has been 2 weeks since I received it and filled with acid, charged it properly, read the instructions very carefully and the result is:

This battery appears to have enough cranking amps to start and it is holding the charge at full 12.83 volts after 2 weeks sitting on the bike's battery compartment at 35. degrees F. Today was the first time I fired the engine and took my bike for a spin. I cheched the charge level and it was still at 12.83! I only charged it 2 weeks ago, ONCE. My bike is old and won't start easy and this battery still had juice after several starts. I mean several. Drove 5 miles around and the alternator charged this thing back to max. Very good.

Unlike my original YUASA which costs a lot (maybe I got a "bad apple") but it wasn't holding the charge since day 1 not to mention, not anough amps.

Bottom line:

I am quite pleased with this battery and plan to buy more for my other 3 bikes (Hayabusa, ZX-11 and Virago)
