After checking out other options and reviews from multiple online sources, Ricks seems far and away the best non-OEM option. There are cheaper options (amazon), but they seem to come at the cost of reliability. And, I need to trust that I'll not be left stranded in the middle of Utah in July.

Had to replace connector with proper female!
This part came with a male connector, the original harness from a 86 Honda VT700 Shadow is a male. I had to cut and solder the connector from the bad part onto this. So while it is a good part its disappointing to have to modify what is supposed to be an OEM part.
