The top starter in this picture is the identical one from my Suzuki GS 1100. I am confused by the bottom picture. Is that the replacement that will bolt in? Looks a lot different
Dino D on Jun 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Dino, thank you for the question. The two starters pictured are general images. The Rick's Motorsport starter is made specific for different machines, so as long as you enter the year, make, and model of your machine on the product page, a direct OE replacement will be sent out. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll-free at 1-888-339-3888. We are always more than happy to help.
Some question, if the bike I'm putting this stater on that is a 1980 or a 1979. the starter that's on it is a nippon Densco 023000 4920 The 4 could have a nuber ahead on it, can'nt be read. If the pichure is exact the starter pictured isn't right where the ears that it bolts in at are wrong and the gear doesn't have the untoothed end on it. The engine does have a kickstarter. Build sticker is missing. Bike bandits 1065561 appears right. Looked up for a 1979 GS550. The starter for a GS550 1980 looks right too, it's part number 1065562, they may both fit.? I'd gamble on the 1065561. if they don't both fit.

BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the question. The picture is a sample image so the starter you need may look different. It is very imperative that you know the year and the model for this. There ar multiple models in each year that have different starters so you cannot purchase off of a picture alone. Please call us at 1-888-339-3888 so that we can assist you further.

I have a 1982 Yamaha Virago 750. Will this help with the starter issues that this bike is known for? The starter I have now is the OEM one and they haven't really worked right since 1982.
null on May 12, 2011

BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! When your replacing the starter motor you would not need to replace those gaskets unless they are needed.

BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question WIDDABOB from BOSTON! Unfortunately this one here would not work on your machine, you will need to go with the OEM replacement for this unit.

Good Starter, a little too long to get...
Starter works very well, bike started immediately. Unfortunate that I waited two weeks to get, however, it was less time then estimated. Glad I ordered through Bikebandit!

Just like OEM
Arrived in less than a week from ordering. Just like OEM part at half the cost. Works perfectly. Therefore, I couldn't be more satisfied.

1982 Suzuki GS1100 Starter
I ordered the starter on a Friday and received it the following Tuesday (quick and fast). The starter was exactly as described. It was a bit of a tight fit which is understandable, but went in and started the bike right up. I've been riding for a couple weeks now and all is still well with the starter. Thanks.

Great Replacement
It is a perfect fit, and was way cheaper than the actually OEM replacement.
One thing I was iffy about was that it didnt come with any instructions or warnings. Since I am restoring this bike as a amateur mechanic, I had to look it up online.
But over all, I has been working perfectly!
