This was the only aftermarket universal stoplight switch. I am adding a back up light to my sidecar and needed a switch I could adapt to the purpose.

Will this switch work on my 87 Magna or is there a original part available?
Magna 87 on Aug 21, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The original O.E.M. stop switch is available. Part # is 638471. The aftermarket part will work with some modification.
Hi, this might be a dumb question, but is this the switch that goes on the front break to activate the light? I have a 1990 DR350 and need to install break lights. thanks for the help.
Rob on Aug 13, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This is a universal product and is made to fit a wide range of motorcycles. Some modification may be required and we cannot guarantee fitment. This actual switch is for the rear brake assy. Mounts to the frame and the rear brake pedal.

It works once you figure out how to connect the wires
The switch seems to be well-constructed with three seemingly substantial rivets holding the body together, and has a boot to exclude water. The spring and anchors provided with it looked pretty good, too. However, the clever design uses two of the rivets as terminals, but the shape of the rivet and the recessed location requires that you use a solder or crimp ring terminal of appropriate size for the screws provided. I am curious how long the connections will last because I thought better of really cranking down on the screws.

its OK for the price
It worked good at first but has stoped working after I got muddy. It is cheep and would go for something that can handle trail riding.

Save your money
This product is difficult to use and not well thought out. The switch is big and clunky, it takes excessive force and at least 1" throw to actuate the switch. The wires attach under widely spaced screw terminals on the plunger end of the switch so the wire routing becomes sloppy and inconvenient. You get what you pay for. I ended up buying an OEM switch for another bike and adapting it, I should have done this in the first place and saved myself the aggravation.
