This is the second Plexistar 2 for my 1982 Honda CM450C. The one I am replacing has been a great product but after many years of riding and weather it has a couple of broken fittings. I like the fit, the looks, and the protection so well I had no hesitation on buying another one. It makes the bike so enjoyable to ride in all weather conditions . Kevin in Cincinnati.

The BMW R1100RT has a fairing, Does this model take it into account and look more like a stock BMW unit rather that the way the sample is shown?
jim on Sep 30, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The shield will not fit the BMW R1100RT, the windshield will conflict with the fairings. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll free at 888-339-3888. We are more than happy to help.

The picture of the National Cycle Plexistar 2 Windshield on the BikeBandit.com web page is different than the picture of the same windshield on the NationalCycle.com web page (the National Cycle picture has a notch in the windshield between the top of the hand shield section and the side of the face shield section. The BikeBandit picture does not have this notch). Does one of the two pictures show a newer, updated, version of the windshield? Which picture shows what I would receive if I were to purchase this item today? Also, The height and width dimensions are all messed up in the bikebandit.com description. What are the correct deminsions?
jim on Aug 17, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! The picture listed with National Cycle is correct. The picture that we list may be an older image that we received from National Cycle. There are several different sizes available depending on the application. The size used is determined by National Cycle for the best fit on the model. The clamps were to short on bottom mounts and can’t find them longer so I had to use two per side, the vender is supplying. Not the finished look I wanted but windshield is great looks wonderful ,my bike is 1974 Honda the clamps would be great on smaller tubes.

Good on the highway!
Bought a '96 Triumph Adventurer last year after not riding for many years. I took it on the highway for a day trip and was fatigued by the wind whip (I'm 60). I bought this and installed it during the winter and just took it for a 60 mile spin. It was great up to 80 MPH; kept the whip off my body and hands and made the ride much more enjoyable. Thanks for the quick delivery and good service!

65,000 miles of use.
Installed this on my 92 Suzuki GSX 1100G at 14,000 miles, odometer now reads 74,000. Has very small stress cracks from pushing wind at 135 mph (gps speed, speedo read 150), many times over 100, no shimmer or shakes. Took my time installing, insuring it was centered on the bike, have it tilted down some as I like full wind from about chin level up, I'm 6'2". Worked well in all conditions including rain and wind. I honed out the handlebar mounts to fit my 1" bar but could have purchased addition kit instead (around $22 or so). The riser strut adjustment is frozen due to inside corrosion after over 60,000 miles. Easy removal of windshield for cleaning, maintenance or naked riding. Reasonable care in washing and the finish remains clear. Worth every penny I paid!

Nice windshield. Instructions are bad!
I put on a slip stream windshield on a friends Yamaha 650 the week before. Didn't need instructions and had it unwrapped and installed in 10 minutes. Couldn't get the same windshield for my Honda Magna. This windshield was a real treat! I work in maintenance at work and put a lot of things together. This took an hour to put together. The instructions are about four pages and it looked like it was copied about 80 times. The windshield does look great on the bike. It keeps the wind off you very well. If the company could have better instructions, it would be a perfect set-up.

Great product
I got the windshield over 2 years ago and it has never failed me! The instructions were difficult to understand, but you'll get the gist of it. You'll spend more time adjusting it to your preferences than you will assembling it. The tint on it is great, and isn't too dark. A great addition to my '80 Honda CX500.
