my cylinder had a cracked intake port bridge that had damaged my last 2 pistons. and now ive finally wore the top part of the cylinder out. re-plating wasn't going to fix the crack.

So if it gets bored to size, then I assume it does not have Nikasil or another coating. Which is not a bad thing, it means it could be bored again. Right? Might be a little heavier than a coated cylinder?

BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! Unfortunately we are not a tech shop and do not have techs here. You may want to contact a performance shop for questions.
What is the maximum bore for this sleeve?
Greg P on Dec 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Greg, thank you for replying with your machine. The 1993 Honda Fourtrax 200D has a cylinder that is plated with nikasil. You might be asking what does that mean? This means you have a thinner but stronger cylinder, since it is thinner it cannot be bored. If you need to repair the cylinder you'll have to re-sleeve the cylinder instead or boring it. Nikasil cylinders are found on most modern motorcycle models. If you have anymore questions please don't hesitate to ask.
I have a 2002 yz250f that the cylinder is damaged, I could use this sleeve on my bike?
Jose V on May 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Jose, you can certainly replace the sleeve in your damaged cylinder. Please keep in mind this will require a professional machinist to remove the damaged sleeve and insert the new sleeve. This may seem like a lot, but it is a more cost-effective way of replacing your cylinder. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll-free at 1-888-339-3888. We are always more than happy to help.
Is this a Stock sleeve or bore?
A shopper on Apr 11, 2018

hi i ordered a wiseco 440 piston kit and it requires a sleeve and im not sure witch one to get i have a 2004 honda trx 400ex
Elyse on Jan 13, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! We have checked into the 440 bore kit on the Wiseco website and show the stock bore is 85mm while the new bore on the kit you have is now 89.00mm. We show the sleeve options listed for your machine are stock size and a big bore 88mm size. Unfortunately it does not seem this would work for your machine. We do apologize. You may want to check with L.A. Sleeve Co. direclty for this.

Joe the Percy on Dec 20, 2012

You may want to contact them directly to see if they have any custom applications for this machine. Please let us know if there is anyhthing else we may assist you with.

null on Apr 17, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Good question! Yes you will need to bore the sleeve still to the exact size and have it honed to ensure a perfect seal.

null on Oct 19, 2011

Does this come ready to put in and slap a piston on? or does it have to be bored to size?
null on Aug 24, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! The Sleeve would still need to be bored to that exact size and honed with a cross hatch pattern to ensure the rings and piston have a better seal.

When purchasing this sleeve I thought I would be able to press it into my cylinder and be done but that wasn't the case. The inside of the sleeve needs to be honed and have the cross hatching in it. When ordered it's too small for the piston and needs to go to the machine shop.

Yamaha warrior 350 2003
I ordered this product months ago. It came on time and with almost everything else I ordered. It looks good and clean about to take it to my shop to have it installed and machined. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to re sleeve there machine or for a big bore. L.A Sleeve website is helpful as well if you do not understand what they are! Also the packaging was immaculate. Full of paper to catch moisture stickered with all information including machine bore size.

Excellent machinability
I installed this sleeve myself. The machinability of this sleeve was excellent, no hard spots or casting imperfections. If you want to take this project on yourself, watch a couple of vids on the subject on youtube. Specs can be found on lasleeves website.
