To quiet down my 2004 VTX 1300C. It' kinda loud and it backfires. I think this will make it run much better.

I've never repacked my aftermarket mufflers. This was identified as a heavy duty replacement packing and I would rather pay a little bit more for what is supposed to be a quality product. I'll know after the job is complete.

can i use this to wrap my baffles on my sho-gun cannon long shots?
Maz on Dec 26, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! Yes, you could use this to repack your exhaust. If your exhaust does not include packing, we would suggest checking with the manufacturer first before wrapping your baffles.
can this be used behind heat shield foil?
null on Aug 25, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Thanks fro your question! We do not show a issue with using this with that application.

very thick mat of fiberglass
This silencer packing is a dense, thick mat. I had to split it in half in order to wrap the porforated silencer pipe. Bigger cans can use the full thickness. It should last a long time.
It's a good product. The package has enough to wrap at least 4 silencers.

Good replacement packing
I repacked an Arrow muffler on my 2008 Kawasaki Versys after 30k miles. The old batting was in decent condition, but replacing it with the Helix definitely deepened the sound and took away some clattering. Very easy to cut and install - just make sure you wear gloves and an old shirt, the fiberglass sticks to everything.
