My question has to do with a 08 rmz 450. If I raise the stock compression from 12.2:1 to 13.2:1 will I have to run race gas?
A shopper on Aug 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for the question. Unfortunately, there is no definitive answer to that as there is many variables that come into play, but according to Wiseco, a 50/50 mixture might be your best option. Again, this might vary and we cannot guarantee you that it will for sure be the best for you. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll-free at 1-888-339-3888. I have an xr200r. If I choose the bore size 65.5 mm is that essentially giving the bike 65 more cc's?
A shopper on Apr 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! The XR200 has a bore-able cylinder meaning if the engine ever blew up the walls of the cylinder can be resurfaced and a new piston can be installed. The Bore size is the diameter of the cylinder or how wide the piston is. By selecting the size of the piston this will tell the machinist how much to cut into the cylinder so the new piston will fit and work properly. If you ever had to bore out your bike because it blew up, you’d want to start off with the smallest size that way if it ever happened again you can just go up one size on the piston. Please measure your existing piston before ordering to determine the size you need. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll free at 1-888-339-3888. We are always more than happy to help.

I have a stock 01 yz 125 54mm bore does a wiseco 54mm piston fit or do i need a smaller one?
Niebs on Jan 28, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! In this case you would need to check the spec in the owners/service manual to see what the piston to cylinder wall clearance should be. If you are within specification the 54MM should work fine as you usually want to match the bore exactly but within the clearance specification the manufacturer calls for. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Wiseco Honda piston kit
The Wiseco piston is actually top quality and very well made, I was impressed at the machining and quality of the piston and rings. The gaskets are a different matter. They are very thin and really cheap quality. I installed everything per instructions but the head gasket leaked oil. After disassembling the head again and double checking all components I had to use #3 Aviation Permatex on the head gasket and reassemble. There was a small seap between the layers of the gasket indicating a bad gasket layering construction of the gasket itself. I will have to order an OEM gasket

quality parts for do it your selfers
I own a 1982 185s three wheeler and this kit was perfect. machine shop bored out the jug and I put it together. with a little research and a wiseco piston kit from bike bandit you can do it. never put a piston in anything before and it turned out great. do your research, find out what you need to know about your motor, get the kit, follow directions, take your time and you will do fine. wiseco makes it really easy for you. and the piston kits are quality part. I thought that an old three wheeler motor wouldn't be that important to big aftermarket manufactures such as wiseco but they do not skimp on quality and their name is on it. i'm satisfied and have 3 other motors that are gonna get the same treatment. you will not be disappointed. excellent product.
