Will this carb work with my 89 yamaha yz250?
Al on Oct 17, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This is the correct style of carb. You may need to re-jett to Yamaha Specifications. Recommending installation by professional service technician due to the fact the carb will need to be tuned to your bike. This is a universal product and is made to fit a wide range of motorcycles. Some modification may be required and we cannot guarantee fitment
Will this carb fit a 02 rm125 correctly ? Ive tried 2 others and niether fit. What is the bore size on each end supposed to be? There's no way to tell the bore size on the bike.

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! For an exact match we recommend going with an OEM carburetor. To measure the bore you would have to remove the old carburetor, once removed you can measure it and get an exact size for your bike. Keep in mind this is a universal carb and it wasn't designed for one specific machine, some modifications may be needed for proper operation and fitment. Tight clearance and fitment issues.
The included cable adjuster on this carb was incompatible with my OEM throttle cable end and prevented my cable from being attached to this carb. For the record, my throttle cable ends in a metal coupler that has internal threads, or in other words (it needs to screw into something in order to attatch itself to the carburetor) This scenario would've been ok if Mikuni had included different cable adjusters (in the included bag of extra clamps and jets) to work with the different throttle cable designs that are used on different machines. However, this was an oversight and the cable adjuster you may need to fit your throttle cable end simply does not exist and cannot be purchased, forcing you to modify (or grind down) your existing cable adjuster to somehow fit into the top of this carb, or you can opt to create your own throttle cable with generic throttle fitting on the end. Because of this, this is truly not a "Universal Carburetor". Also, it is advertised as being compact but is much larger and especially taller than the OEM 38mm Mikuni it replaces causing clearance issues. I cannot level the carburetor assembly because the top of the carb now hits the metal frame (spine) of the bike underneath the gas tank. Overall a good carb if you have lots of free space in your engine bay to work with and have a normal, generic type throttle cable end. Otherwise you're in for some fun trying to get things to fit the way you expected them to, right out of the box. Also, the plastic throttle valve slide somehow became scratched with visible, vertical score lines before I even had a chance to install it (just by opening the throttle valve a couple times prior to installation) They should've used a harder material such as metal on the throttle valve.
