About Our Best Motorcycle Crankcase Breathers (Universal)

At Bike Bandit, we know that you want to get the most out of your ride. That is why we are committed to bringing you the best quality parts at the most affordable prices. Whether it’s something big like new tires or something small like a motorcycle grip, we have everything you need to get your bike in tip-top shape. What we also pride ourselves on is providing the best possible components for your engine, no matter how small. One perfect example is the crankcase breather. Without this handy little device, your engine would be much more volatile than it should be.

What is a Crankcase?

If you’re somewhat unfamiliar with how your bike’s internal organs work, allow us to give you some background information. The purpose of a crankcase is to house and protect the crankshaft, which is part of what makes the engine work (along with the pistons). For the most part, crankcases may hold fluids and other materials to help the machinery work much smoother, and as a result, they need to be vented. That is where a crankcase breather comes in.

Crankcase Breathers

Because of the volatile nature of combustion engines, everything needs to be well regulated and maintained to prevent any catastrophe from happening. In smaller engines (such as a two-stroke), the crankcase may hold oil, fuel, and air to be used in the engine. For larger engines (four strokes), the crankcase usually just holds oil and air and is separated from the fuel to the pistons.

Because there has to be a finite amount of air going through the engine, a crankcase breather helps to relieve any excess pressure that occurs. Usually, when the engine is off, air will seep in through openings and various valves, but when the engine turns on, that air has to go somewhere. Otherwise, it’ll blow the gaskets and rings. A breather helps release this air, as well as help any burnoff evaporate while you ride.

Clean Breathers

Because your crankcase is filled with oil and possibly fuel, that means that the breathers will absorb trace amounts of those materials over time. To help with overall performance and fuel economy, it’s imperative that you get new crankcase breathers on a regular basis. Just as you change your oil regularly, so you need to change your breather.

Here at Bikebandit.com, we have a wide array of crankcase breathers that will fit all engine sizes. We have the top brands, and our quality is guaranteed. If you want to get the most out of your bike engine, make sure to use only the best components. Bike Bandit breathers will do the trick and help you get more out of your ride.
