Reviews I've read indicate that JT sprockets are known for long-life and are essentially the same as the OEM sprockets. My OEM sprockets on my SV650S lasted 18,000 miles, but I last replaced them with Vortex sprockets that were lighter but showed considerable wear after 10,000 miles. I ride the SV 1,000 miles per month commuting and want long-life, so I'm going to give the JT Sprockets a try.

Truthfully I have to say I bought my JT sprockets for one reason; after I regained consciousness from looking at the BMW catalog I saw the $30-ish price tag and pulled the trigger. Then I was asked this question and decided to visit the JT web site to see what I bought. I recommend you do too. Click the "Why JT" tab. You won't be disappointed.

which size it is? 525 or 530?
Heiner B on Jan 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! You have to first select your model then it would bring up the stock option for your specific machine. So if your bike calls for a 525 then it will be a 525. Please contact our sales team at 1-888-339-3888 if you have anymore questions!

2003 rebel rear sprocket is 33 can I use a smaller one to get more top end speed?
A shopper on Jul 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Kent, thank you for the question. Yes, a smaller rear sprocket will get you more top end speed but will create less acceleration. You also might have to cut or swap out your chain, and make a few minor adjustments. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll-free at 1-888-339-3888. What is the inner hole diameter of this sprocket?
Clint F on Aug 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Clint, every bike has a different size hub resulting in a different size sprocket. To know the size of the inner hole on a sprocket you would need to know the model you'll be taking the sprocket from. Also keep in mind many sprockets don't have a round center. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll free at 1-888-339-3888. We are always more than happy to help.
I have a 2012 gsxr 750 I did a 520 conversion with 16t front and 47 T rear I'm thinking of going up one in front to 17 I also want to go up for the rear any recommendations?
Julian A on Nov 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Why? What are you trying to achieve? If you just go one larger in the front (if it will fit) will give you a lower engine RPM for the same MPH speed. If you want to keep about the same gearing then you need to go 3 teeth in the rear, but your RPM will be more since the 16/47 is a 2.9375 gear ratio. Are you trying to achieve a higher top speed? I have seen some bikes that will not pull a higher gear (I had a bike that ran faster in 4th than in 5th).
I have a 94 shadow 600 with a stock rear 44 tooth gear I want to bring down the rpm's at speed so I'm thinking of changing to a 41 tooth how much will this affect my speedometer and how do I fix it

I have 2007 Honda rebel 250cc can I use 15 t front and 30t rear? And what size chain will i need?
Michael V on Jul 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Michael, thank you for the question. Yes, you can use a 15t front and 30t rear. In fact, I have heard of people running various combinations in the sprocket set ups on this specific bike. Many people try to get a chain with shorter links, 106 links for example, but mention unusual noises and weird performance issues. You should try out stock length first, and then see how you feel the bike suits your needs. Stock length chain on your bike is 108 links on a 520 type chain. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll-free at 1-888-339-3888. I have a 1985 atc 200x with a 40 tooth sprocket 520 chain. I want to increase the tooth count to 45. Are all of these sprocket drilled the same.
Kevin on Jan 2, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! Once you enter in your year, make, and model machine you are shopping for you will be shown all the correct fitting sprockets for your machine. The images used are general images so they would be used regardless of what machine is entered so the photo may or may not look like the one that would fit your machine. Please let us know if there is anything else we may assist you with.
JT shows a 530 pitch sprocket for my 2000 Triumph Adventurer. Bike Bandit’s drop-down “parts finder” lists a 520 pitch drive JT sprocket and doesn’t show a 530 pitch sprocket as being available. What sprockets should I buy for my bike?
Erik on Nov 13, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The database was updated incorrect with the pitch. Just verified with all the suppliers of this product. They all verified this sprocket is a 530. The sprockets you will recieve will be a 530 sprocket. The system thinks they are 520 sprockets. I just cross referenced the numbers and they are correct just the pitch is wrong. The problem will be resolved by tonight. Thank you!

horseshoe on Oct 11, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The Front sprocket in a 17T application is part number # 37018. The rear sprocket in a 42T is part number # 37520. I have a 2005 Suzuki sv 650 with 525 chain and sprockets. When I put my bike info on the website, it says I need a JT 520 sprocket. Is this a mistake or do I need a 520 sprocket with a 525 chain?
jason on Oct 7, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. No the company JT sprockets offers a kit with a light weight 520 chain and sprockets. You can not fit a 525 chain on 520 sporckets. How many teeth do you need on the sprocket? I can get the part number for the exact sprockets you need.

Get this for you KLX 140!!!
If you have a (2015 etc) Kawasaki KLX 140 L you must get this! This size (2 teeth less than stock sprocket) makes the first gear actually usable and smoother. This is my 13 yr olds bike and he is fairly new to riding- he loves it. Works great for hills, fire roads and trails. Stock first gear does nothing for the bike and makes more work for the rider. This size sprocket improves the bike immensely
