If I buy this product do I need to buy a separate kick-stand or anything to lower the front of the bike?
Alex on Feb 16, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Depending how how much you lower the bike, I highly recommend considering an adjustable kick stand. It's better to be safe than sick - when you see you bike was tipped over from a hard gust of wind.

Lowered the bike perfectly, I love it!
It definitely works! I was hesitant to use lowering links because of some of the negatives (a lower bike can't get as low in the corners) but as I am a little bit shorter I finally made the decision to purchase these. Installation can be difficult depending on your bike, I had to take off most of my exhaust and there are few instructions. Luckily I was able to piece together what I needed to do from other people online but it was quite bothersome to see so little official information from Vortex. After installation I am beyond ecstatic with the result. I can now stand with my feet flat on both sides of the bike, it feels like a small reward but it really does make you feel more comfortable and confident. The best part about these links is that you can always switch back to stock height if you decide you don't like it lowered for whatever reason.

Lowered GSXR
This is a great product for anyone looking to drop a motorcycle; I installed it on my wife's GSXR 600. She loves the way it rides and that she can put her feet down when she stops. Easy to install, took about 15 minutes. However one thing I did not think about was the kick stand, so I cut is and welded the foot back on to the stand, now it is to light and does not sit on the stand sincere so it will cut out when riding, if you are looking at dropping a bike order the right kick stand and spring so that you will not have to do more cutting and welding.

Know body knows
The issue I had was during the installation. The original equipment had needle bearings that would not fit the Vortex lowering links and the instructions from Vortex were not clear. I called Vortex and they didn't know if the bearings should be used with the lowering links. I determined, on my own, that the lowering links have a solid brass type bearing and don't require the OE needle bearings. Hope I'm correct. I do like how they look and they lowered the bike nicely for my wife, I just wish someone knew how to install them.

Lowering my gsxr
I have an '03 gsxr 750 so the product was different than the picture like the site said it may be. This product is perfect, cheap, arrives quickly easy to install in about 30 min overall. Very pleased. Thank you bike bandit for having lower prices.
