   Burly Brand Voyager Tank/Tail Bag

Have you ever noticed how tank bags look like tail bags and how tail bags look like tank bags? Have you ever notice the price difference for a similar looking bag? Well Burly Brand solved that for you with the Burly Brand Voyager Tank/Tail Bag. Put up front or stick it out back. Maybe you just need the phone pouch in the front but want the rest of the bag on the rear fender. Again Burly has that all figured out, simply mount the bag on the back and remove the phone pouch and slap it on the gas tank. No worries because the pouch is magnetized. Exterior dimensions are approximately 11" tall x 6" deep x 11" wide bottom x 8" wide top

How well does it hold onto the tank? Has it scratched the paint?
steve G on Jun 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Steve, thank you for the question. The Burly Brand Voyager Tank/Tail Bag is designed to magnetically hold itself in place on a tank or tail end of a bike. It also features additional safety securing D-ring anchor points for mounting. So far I have not heard of anyone mentioning it scratching paint. Burly Brand Tank/Tail Bag adds versatility to your ride. The bags are thoughtfully engineered to do what you need and look tough!
The Burly Brand bags are used exclusively on my Triumph Bobber. They are well engineered and give me the ability to travel long distance. The snaps, leather trim and waxed cotton are just perfect on my ironstone bobber. The Burly tank/tail bag is a natural addition to my Burly Brand saddle bags. The bike looks tough and vintage and different from the pack. I recommend this product.

Weak Snap construction
The snaps on the zippers have fallen off within two days of having this bag in use. Seems well constructed, but I have had two snaps fall off.

A decent tank bag for the New Scrambler
I bought this bag to go with my new Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE and it doesn’t disappoint. BB had the best price on it and although it “seems” expensive, it’s generally my experience that you get what you pay for. The bag itself is very heavy, a factor of all the magnets in it. There are at least 7 (seven) magnets in the bag securing it to your tank, it doesn’t move even when riding aggressively through dust and gravel which is good as it helps keep the finish nice. They use a unique button fastener system for the pull tabs that is pretty neat, all of them are neatly fastened to pieces of leather, either for themselves or as part of another fastener which keeps them from moving in the breeze.
Also the magnetic phone/map/GPS pouch is the best product for that I have EVER used, no kidding it is almost beyond description how well it works.
Say you are trailside and you need to access your phone in the pouch: you just flip up the lower edge and the backside is exposed which has a sticky tape closure that you can easily pull open while the pouch remains magnetically attached at the top! This came in handy while I was on a trail that diverged the other day as I was able to manipulate both my phone and my GPS in time to prevent my confusing the correct trail.
Since the Bonneville is a simple bike with simple styling the tank bag accomplished the goal of adding some much needed carrying capacity without sacrificing looks or utility.
I have included some pictures which hopefully illustrate what I’m getting at.

Nice bag
Very good quality tank bag. Does the job as needed. I added some straps for extra security on the tank but that's mainly out of my paranoia.
