Expensive but if you can afford it, I think it is worth the extra $$$$
Have only ridden a few miles, however it fits really nice on my head. It's quieter than my HJC 3/4 helmet and I can certainly feel the airflow through the the upper vent. The feel of the padding inside is super plush and comfortable. I have a long ride planned and I am anxious to give it a test for real!

Too tight on ears. Sits on shelf.
My first impression was how loud the wind noise was. But the reason I won't ever wear it is the helmet is painfully uncomfortle. I spoke with a Shoei rep who confirmed I had the correct size. He recommended shaving down some of the foam at the ears, as several other people with the same complaint found that helped. I took out at least 1/8" from each side, but it was only better; not good. At the end of a day of riding my ears hurt and I couldn't get that helmet off fast enough. And forget inserting Bluetooth speakers; there's no space for them. So instead I bought the shaded visor for my Arai.
Mechanism for shades easy to use
Shade tint is just right (Arai not dark enough)
Being able to raise either visor or shades is ideal (Arai shades go up if visor goes up)
Painfully tight at the ears
No gap for Bluetooth speakers
Loud wind noise

Louder than expected, but snug fit & good features
After reading several reviews about how quiet this helmet is, my first impression was how loud it is. But maybe the other people had poor helmets for comparison - I'm coming from a full-face Arai, which I know is top-of-the line. But the price point is similar so I had high expectations. That said, I'm very happy with the built-in sun visor - the mechanism is easy and I love being able to wear my prescription glasses while riding. The air vents are easy to use too, and I get good ventilation if the face shield is down. When it's flipped up it blocks the portals so there's virtually no ventilation through them. The fit is good and I really like that a Small helmet has a smaller shell than other sizes. I'm used to feeling like the Great Gazoo when I put a helmet on, so this is a nice change.

Great helmet. Helped save my life
I have to comment about the Shoei J-Cruise helmet. I was wearing this helmet when I had my motorcycle accident back in March of 2014. As a result of the accident, I was thrown through the air 25 feet, hit the roadway and rolled numerous times prior to coming to a stop. I was hospitalized for three months with major body injuries but I had no head injuries other than a few stitches in my chin thanks to this helmet. I still have the helmet to remind me how lucky I was on that day. After 10 months I'm back riding. Thanks again Shoei for helping to save my life.

nice helmet
This is my everyday helmet. I prefer open face for comfort and extended field of vision.
I can put helmet on with my glasses on. A big plus for me. It is quite quiet, not like a car, but some low frequency noise but no high frequency. Very quiet compared to Scorpion and HJC full face I wear on the track. Not oh my God confortable but still comfortable, then again still new. The shield mounting system makes the Scorpion system seem hard and you don't need an engineering degree like to use the HJC. It could not be easier. The internal shield is great. Lift at highway speeds is unnoticable. It's weight is very slightly less than my HJC open face which is still quite light.

Best so far.
Fits perfectly, snug in all the right places without any uncomfortable pressures. Also feels very light.
Wide open and very clear view. The drop down sun visor is a welcomed feature.
Haven't had a real problem with it yet, but it might have a fogging issue once the temperatures drop later in the year. Time will tell...
