CLASSIC STYLE WAS DESIGN PERFECTION
This jacket is a classic style, well designed, stiff thick leather, well made, short torso so it won't ride up and shove the collar into your neck/chin like the Indiana jacket which is 3 inches longer, and also has air vents, perforated leather on the arms and armpits so it won't keep you warm in 45 degree weather. The Forge has no air vents so its a warmer jacket than the Indiana, it has a collar/lapel that doesn't get near your throat when down, (great design) when up and closed it presses a bit but not as bad as the Indiana. I keep the collar/lapel down and use a scarf to keep my throat area warm, then its easier to turn my head back and forth to look at the scenery or traffic.. A turtle neck T-shirt would also be a good idea in cold weather. I will keep the Indiana for warmer days when I need the air venting, both jackets have tight, long sleeves so your wrists aren't exposed...the heavy leather gives you an I'm protected feeling, though I never want to drop a moto going 60 mph on blacktop. I'm 6 feet tall, 190 lbs, so I'm between sizes L and XL so I bought both jackets XL which gives me adequate room in my shoulders, even wearing a sweatshirt, and I don't have a beer belly so there's a little bit of extra room in the abdomen area but wind doesn't get in there because the Forge lies flat, the Indiana is longer with stiff leather so my thighs tend to push it up into my throat/chin, and outpouch the belly area, once its broken in and softer that might not happen anymore, but with the Forge it doesn't happen at all so I'll be wearing it more often. The gun pockets are quite strong and secure for .380's or 9mm, but I'll use them for my camera and GPS, its nice to have a lot of secure pockets, the outer ones zip, and all zippers are strong metal zippers including the main zipper which is nice and it closes with the zipper no snaps or Velcro has to be fiddled with. If you flip the collar/lapels up you just have to zip the zipper a little higher to secure the lapels in the up position, and as I said they just have a slight pressure on your throat, less pressure than the strap closure on the Indiana.
