A very good tire
I just finished a two week ride thru 35 states and Canada. Encountered every weather condition and some of the worst roads and highways imaginable. The Avon tire withstood all that which was thrown at it. I will be buying more of these tires in the future. Btw, love the fast delivery!

Best Tread for Your Bread!
Been running Avon tires on my 1999 Honda Valkyrie Interstate for many years. The handling and tread life are better than any other tire mfg I've tried - and I've tried several brands. So when my Sister's bike needed new 'sneakers', I knew this was the tire to have. She hasn't put much miles on 'em just yet, but she liked they way they feel right away. Great tire at a great price!

Awesome tire!! Great grip, great tread pattern, bang for the buck, so many vintage applications.
In my opinion best tires for gripping asphalt in those vintage sizes. Soft tire doesn’t last as long as others, but who cares when you’re ripping canyons with total confidence. I love how many sizes they have for this tire. I run these tires on 3 of my vintage road bikes. 81 Yamaha SR500, 80 CB750, 68 Aermacchi sprint 250.

excellent tires
I appreciate their wet and dry handling on the straights and in the curves. They have a decent wear life for the way I like to ride. I paid for the whole tire, I like to use the whole tire from side to side. The Avon Roadriders enable me to do this as fitted to my 86 BMW R 80RTP. I have been using them for a while.

Avon AM26 Roadrider tires
Just put these on a 1980 Yamaha XS850. One of the few matching set tires I could find for this "classic" older bike. Tires mounted by hand fairly easily. Althought I have only about 100 miles on them so far they seem like a good match for this bike. Handling is fairly neutral, ride comfort is good. They don't seem to want to follow grooves in the road. Overall thumbs up.

It's very hard to find matching tires for my 1986 Kawasaki Concours, and I found these last time I put new rubber on this bike. So glad I did, and I hope they keep making these Roadriders as they really enhance the ride quality...

Keith on Sep 29, 2012
My Kawasaki vulcan runs tubes. Can I run tubes inside these tires?

Why does the 120/80-17 have arrows going in different directions? Isn't the tread pattern important to water dispersal?
Steve J on Oct 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! You are correct, the tread pattern is important for water dispersal. There are some tires where you'd think the direction of the tread should go with the arrow on the sidewall but the way the tire was designed the arrow maybe facing the opposite of how the tire has been molded, tire may look backward but is correct. Mark on Mar 13, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! To our knowledge Avon is not making the rear size you are looking for. If you would like help choosing another tire please give us a call 1-888-339-3888.
This tire size 130/70/18 for the front wheel of my bike but the write up says its a rear tire. Will this tire work/fit the front wheel?
shorty on Nov 3, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Its not recommended to run a rear tire as a front application. The shape of the tire can adversly affect the handling and traction of the motorcycle. Below is a link to the Avon Cobra AV71/AV2 Tires which are avialable in the sizes needed for your bike:
http://www.bikebandit.com/avon-av72-cobra-motorcycle-tire
I have a 1977 Yamaha xs 400. The factory tire sizes are 90/90 18 and 110/90 18. I need to know the overall tire width for the Avon am 26 roadriders in 120/90 18 and 100/90 18 to make sure these tires will fit my swing arm and front forks. Thank you in advance for your help.
Keith on Oct 4, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The first number of the tire size specifies the width. 120/90-18 is 120 millimeters wide. The 100/90-18 is 100 millimeters wide. Now to find the convert the metric size to inches you divide the size by 25.4. ( example 120 divided by 25.4 equals 4.72 inches.) Almost 4 3/4". Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll free at 888-339-3888. We are more than happy to help.

1.85x19 Yamaha XS650 alloy front and rear wheels. Can I run the 100/90x19 on the 1.85x19 wheel? (I will be running the 90/90x19 on the front.) Is the rim width to narrow for the 100/90?

My 88 FZ750 stock tire size is 130/80-18. Can I mount a 150/70-18 Avon AM26 on the stock 18 x MT3.00 rim ?
Marc on Aug 1, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! We can only recommend the stock tire size for your model.
Curious what the Avon 3.25 would be comparable height wise to a 100 90 19 Kawasaki W650 is what I am outfitting 130 80 18 is good for rear (am26) trying to put a 100 or 110 70 or 80 /19 up front recommended size is 90/90/19 but 90 is too tall looks bobberish and hits customized fender any suggestions?
Randall on Jun 2, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Good question! A 3.25 would be equal to 100/90, whether changing the size of your tire will work for you is something we cannot make an assement on and is based on clearance space between the width and height of the tire. We recommend consulting with a local technician on sizing before ordering. 100=width 90=aspect ratio or profile (100 to a 110 would be 10mms wider adding 5mms to each side between fork and sidewall of tire).
Will this rear tire replace an Avon Azaro 140/80 VB17 V250 tire that i have on my 1993 Suzuki Katana?
Dave on May 30, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! Yes this tire would be an excellent replacement for your old tire.
I have a 1988 Kawasaki Ninja 750 and I am looking for a good tire that will last a while with good performance and cornering. These tires seem like a good fit but I want to be sure I am buying the right tires for my bike. Although I am more of a casual rider, I would still like a tire that can keep up with the potential speed and agility of a Kawasaki. Would these tires be the way to go? Thanks!
kielbasa on May 14, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! Yes these tires are an excellent choice for your application.
I have a 1978 cb750f with the honda com-star wheels.. should i also install some tubes to go along with these avon tubeless tires..? i think i'd feel a little safer with tubes installed..
Russ on Sep 2, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! Yes these tires will also work with tubes as well.
can i use a tubless tire with wire wheels or can i put a tube in? really like the lazertec.
Mack on May 2, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! if you wish to use a tubeless tire on a tube type rim you would need to run a tube also due to how the air would leave through the spoke holes.
I am replacing tires on a '79 Honda CB750F Supersport. My question is about the comparison of the 4.00-18 rear and the 110/90-18 rear tire. As a cross reference of the OEM tires on this bike, both of these should fit. My question is, what's the difference between the two and would one be more beneficial than the other? They will be used mainly for long distance highway and around town riding.
KawRider on Dec 28, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! Our cross reference will list the 110/90-18 as comparable to the 4.00-18. We would suggest this size for the match on a 4.10-18 because the next size up will be larger than the 4.10-18 size.
Avon AM26 Recommendation?

I am looking for a 130/70(or 130/60)-17 rear tire for my Supermoto converted DR350 suzuki. I can't go to a 140, it slows me down too much. The little engine doesn't have the power to spin it.

Would this be a tire worth trying? Is it STICKY?
I need a tire that is primarily performance oriented, or dual-compound with soft shoulders at least.

What can you offer in that size, I can use a front tire also, because there is no torque to bother it. I'm running a 120/70 mich. Pilot Sport (front tire) on the rear now, with no problems, I'd just like a little more rubber under me.

Also, this is a bias ply tire - so would that cause handling issues with a front radial? (Mich. Power Race soft)

Thank you
Sedona on Nov 4, 2009
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! With the Avon Roadrider AM26 Motorcycle Tire that your looking at this one is more of a cruiser tire. The highest performance tire we offer in the 130/70-17 would be the Pirelli Sport Demon Motorcycle Tire located in the link below.

http://www.bikebandit.com/pirelli-sport-demon-motorcycle-tire
can i run tubes in tubless tires

i have a t120 bonniville would like to put modern sport tires on ?
f800st on Aug 20, 2009
BEST ANSWER: We have heard of many customers running tubes in a tubeless type tire and vise versa. To get this information we would recommend checking with the tire manufacturer to make sure it is ok for that exact tire.
