Good grip on the pavement, and non-pavement. Decent life. I think my last one lasted close to 6000 miles with a lot of pavement riding, and very little off road. Plus I like the way they make my Adventure bike look.

It look like a tire that I can actually rider off the pavement. The Bridgestone's and the Dunlop's were not really an off highway tire.
I'm hoping for better results with these tires.

this is the stock tire for my bike, the front is still in good shape, so I am going to put new rear on for now and will try different brand on both ends the next go around.

My 2009 KLR650 has been wearing these tires for years. Very durable, great aesthetics, great performance both on and off road.

I've done over 100,000 miles on TKC80s, on big bikes and small. They provide an excellent balance of on and off road grip for long distance ADV rides. Can't say enough good things about them.

Looking for a tire that would make my 1978 Honda cb400Tii stand out, one that would give it a scrambler look. This is easily the one!
Zackery B on Apr 9, 2018
We don't get high mileage out of these, because we ride on pavement as well as dirt/gravel, but they are there when you need them - on pavement or off. Love 'em!
Richard K on Mar 25, 2018
Correct sizes, appropriate tread type, excellent compound.

Great traction on and off road. I needed a good mud dualsport tire.
peter i on Aug 12, 2017
Only front knobby I could find in a 120/70/17. Sticks great on the pavement and does good off road at lower pressures.
Jeff B on Jul 18, 2017
Best dirt tire for this bike. Tried others now I'm back. Not enough companies make tires for the water cooled BMWs yet. Great tire in the dirt and surprisingly good on the road.
Michael S on Jun 20, 2017
chose these tires for brand reputation and BB prices.
Ralph F W on Mar 8, 2017
Was considering Dunlops and these. Chose these because of the factory rebate but they work great on my dual sport.
Darris S on Jan 22, 2017
Replacing what I already have on the bike. It has had excellent traction on and off road. Lacks in lifespan if ridden on tarmac, but still a solid tire. Also withstood a 100 miles with 0 psi.

I have a 2003 KTM 640 Adventure that uses tubes and I'm looking for a 90/90 21 front but all I see are "tubeless" does it really make a difference? maybe in the bead just want to be sure.

thanks,
Joe
Joe on Oct 15, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! We always suggest using what came stock but we have had many customers use tubeless tires with tubes. One of the main differences can be the inside of the carcass of the tires. Tubeless tires are not as smooth inside unlike a tube type tire which is smooth inside to allow for less chafing of the tube against the tire. The bead will still seat and work just fine. You can also find more information on this topic on many online forums. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
This tire comes with an "S" rating and a "Q" rating for a tubeless tire. What does that mean?

I am purchasing this front tire for a 2005 Suzuki DL 1000. Which size 120/70 or 100/90 would be better for a heavy off road motorcycle?
Brandon on Mar 13, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! The "S" and "Q" ratings would be speed ratings. The "S" would be rated for up to 112mph and the "Q" would be rated to 99mph. Unfortunately we are only able to recommend stock sizing for legal reasons. You may want to check some online forums for this sizing information to see what others have used. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
How many side-to-side rows of knobbies are of the circumference on a 90/90 x 21"? How many on a 150/70 x 17"? Reason of the inquiry is to attempt to determine the proper number of studs needed for winter riding. Thank You for the assistance of minimizing the wait time.
K-Bobber, Bikoholic on Dec 5, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Unfortunately the information you seek is not disclosed to us by the manufacturer. You may need to purchase the tires to get the stud count. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll free at 888-339-3888. We are more than happy to help.
Can I put a tube in a "tubeless" tire? I'm considering the Continental Twinduro 90/90-21 and 130/80-17 on my 2009 Kawasaki KLR650 with wire spoke wheels.
Doug on Nov 3, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Yes tubeless tires can be used with an inner tube with no problems at all. If I order a set for my 2008 r1200gs, I would want to know what year they are manufactured. Can this be confirmed and guaranteed pre-purchase?
reidguyton on Jun 11, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! Unfortunately we do not have access to check the warehouse before purchase nor is there an efficient way to do so. I know though from working on our warehouse end we get are tires shipped in factory fresh on a daily basis and we offer such smokin prices on them we are unable to house them long enough to get aged.
What size front and rear, fit a 2011 DR650? Thanks, Darryl
null on Apr 30, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Good question! It came OEM factory with a 90/90-21 front and a rear runs a 120/90-17 for the 2011 DR650.
What is the difference between this 150/70 by 17 bias tire vs. 140/80 by 17 radial tire for the $50 price diffential?
bill on Apr 9, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! The difference would be the size and the Radial construction vs. Bias construction
I was wondering if this tire fits on XR650L , I have the rear and would like to purchase a front. The Conti website says that 3.00-21 is the proper size for Honda, and the only 21 inch one on your site pulls up as tubeless? The Honda uses a tube.

Thanks Dave
null on Jan 10, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question!

Yes this tire will work for your XR650L. It is a tube type tire.

TKC80's are the standard
And able to perform well on and off road. Rear wears rather quickly (I get 2500 miles) but it does it's job.

Great tires, although they wear fast
This is my second set of TKC 80 on modified BMW Urban GS with not much “urban” left in it. I often ride the bike off-road. These tires are more 50/50 than true enduro but I get a good compromise as they behave surprisingly well on paved roads too. My only complaint is in regard to how quickly they wear out, Particularly the rear one. 3K miles is all you can realistically expect from these. Even less, if you ride more aggressively than me. Since I swap tires by myself, I can factor in the expense every 18 months or so. Different story if you take the bike to the shop.

Replacement tire, third one purchased.
Replacement for the last one. No question I was going to be a repeat buyer. The tread is quite soft, which means it wears fast. Like 5000k would be a good street expectation in summer heat. But traction wet and dry is solid and secure. I ride off road as many klicks as on, so really it’s the off road traction I’m after (along with grip and noise on street). I’ve used this tire repeatedly on gravel, dirt and sand and traction and cleaning is very good. If you ride dual sport this is a great choice.

Great. Tires for a good price.
I needed new Dual Sport tires and the pair or Continental TKC 80 tires had great reviews. Bikebandit had the best price and the right sizes. Shipping was fast. I installed the tires and they feel very good on the paved roads and really grip off road on the dirt trails. If you are looking for a 60/40 off-road/ onroad tire, I recommend Continental TKC 80's.
