The D606 rear in combination with an MT21 front is the best tire combo for my XR650L. The set lasts one season (2500 miles or so) of hard riding but never lets me down. Grips in sand, mud, rocks, wet roots, etc. Decent road manners for a knobbie. Don't expect supermoto handling; this is an off-road, DOT tire. Great for any small to mid-size dual sport.

This order will replace my rear. So far I've got almost 3k miles on the first set of tires with a 50/50 logging roads vs street....Maybe 10% left on rear and 75% on front. Tires have held up well and wore evenly. Loved it in the dirt and approved of it's road performance.

I chose to buy the Dunlop D606 tires because I needed tires that were mostly meant for off road and trail riding, while still enabling me to ride on the highway legally. After quite a bit of research, these tires fit the bill the best.
Ben A on Feb 27, 2017
I chose this as the rear tire on my XR650L after reading lots of online reviews about combinations using this tire. There are many tire choices so you have to choose based on how you will use your bike. I compared how I ride to how others, who ride like me, set up their bikes and put on similar tires.
Jesse P on Feb 18, 2017
Needed a tire that could do well going from hard dirt to wet sand and mud for my XT600. This has been the top pick of dual sport riders in my area.

Mike on Jun 26, 2012

Will a 130-90-18 tire fit my Crf230f?
Jake A on Mar 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! This size may be too wide for the rear of your CRF230f, measure the available space between the tire and swing arm, you need about an extra inch of space for the 130/90-18 to fit where the original 100/100/-18 fits. Dirtgouger on Oct 25, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The 3.00x17 is equal to 100/90-17. The 2.50x18 is equal to 80/90-18. BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the question! Your 94 onda XR650L comes stock with a 3.00x21 or 80/100x21 front tire and 4.6x18 or a 120/100x18 rear tire. We currently do not have your size in the Dunlop Dunlop D606 Motorcycle Tire.
Hi what's the difference between the 120/90 18 and the 130/90 18 tire? Will they both fit on the DRZ400?
null on May 9, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for writing in! There is little difference between the 120/90-18 and the 130/90 18 tire. The 130 will be 10MM wider than the 120 and it will fit your drz400. You can always move up or down a tire size and you should be ok.
I have a 95 Honda xr200r dirt bike, will this tire fit the rear? The tire size on the bike now is a 4.60S 17. I will need a HD tube also.
Thanks for your help,

null on Apr 17, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! This tire is going to be a bit wider and you may have clearance issues.
If the back tire is 120/90 will a 130/90 fit?
Rob on Jun 18, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question.

That is only a 10mm difference and normally should not be a problem upgrading to that size. You will want to make sure you have the clearance for that extra 10mm thickness.
I was wondering if this tire was DOT approved.
null on Dec 28, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question. These tires are D.O.T. approved.
will this tire fit my 2000 DR200SE? Original sizes are 70/100-21 and 100/90-18. I was thinking of using the 90/90-21 and the 120/90-18 as replacements but was wondering if there would be enough clearance between the forks, etc.
null on Sep 2, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Thansk for your question! We show this would fit the rim of your machine so that would not be a problem. You would need to measure around your machine for clearance to see what size tires you will be able to run.

I would like to purchase Dunlop d606 tires but I live in Alaska. Are there any shipping options for Alaska? I am aware that fees may apply but would prefer not to have these tires shipped UPS as it is very expensive. Please let me know of any other options. Than you!

Tire Syle
This is the best tire for dirt on the market. It grips sand, mud, sludge, and dirt very well with tons of control. just make sure you match your front tire as well with the 90/10. This is basically street legal dirt bike tire.

Best dual sport tire for my Suzuki DRZ 400S that I have tried
This is the 3rd 606 tire I have put on my bike, front and rear.
They are almost like a knobby in the dirt and the don't flex too much on windy mountain roads. Although they are DOT approved for street they are not for high speed antics.
I always get them balanced and they cruise up to 75 without problems (although the bike isn't so happy) I get about 3,000 miles out of them.

Very good tire
Love the grip, even good in mud that’s not too loose. Good handling on the highway until the rear starts to flatten off of a couple k-miles.

The stiff sidewall makes the rear tough to install and remove. I’d have a VERY difficult time with a field flat repair without long spoons and other tools. I’m simply not strong enough. That’s the only reason for a 4-star rating instead of a 5.

The best of the best rear tire...best performance front
I have a dr650 that I ride in some of the most challenging places from east to west coast...the d606 is hands down the best all around performer in all abusive off road conditions from sloppy mud...deep sand...to pavement...never ever losing a knob no matter how I abused the tire...also great on the paved roads wet and dry much too my surprise.... I have had several sets of these tires

The rear tire is tough and lasts over 5000 miles it gets far better train in off-road challenges than any I have used...

The front tire performance wise is perfect too WITH THE EXCEPTION if you run lots of high speed hiway miles without doing a lot of pressure adjustment between on and off road...transitions they wear unevenly and about 2000 miles is all you still get.... However with less high speed pavement....they last much longer.

If you have the money to replace the front tire fairly often these are absolutely the best tires that money can buy for off-road performance on a dual sport bike.

Since I'm doing trips where there is a lot of highway and really aggressive Terrain in different spots within those long Highway rides at 75 plus miles an hour I'm currently checking out a few other front tires that are less costly if I'm going to have to replace them that often.

In the defense of the price of the front tire I will say this I never lost any side Nobbies off of these tires no matter how rocky the terrain. Also I will say they did so well and all of the off-road situations that they are really worth the money even if you do have to replace them more often. I have been told the Kenda 760 is also a great front tire I will be trying it next to see how it holds up since it is about half the price. But I will definitely stay with the d606 rear tire because there is no better Tire to use on a dual sport bike then this tire if you want performance on the dirt and long-lasting Highway performance

D606 rear tire for my WR250R...ALWAYS
This is my third D606 on my WR250R... getting more than 5000 miles on them. I like these tires more than any other tire I’ve tried on this size bike. Great overall combination of wet, dry... paved or dirt roads.

Near perfect tie for your off road ADV.
Dig these tires! I can’t recall how many set I have purchased over the years. I trust them in the dirt, rocks and sand on my thumper F650 GS Dakar. A little squirrely with a fully loaded bike with camping gear. Not recommended for extended ADV riding with long asphalt stretches. They hook up well in pretty much all terrain except cornering on the twisties.
