I've used Dunlop motorcycle tires for over 40 years on my 1976 Honda 750 and 1976 BMW R90/6. I am still riding the latter and have maintained it in stock condition, so I like these tires which are similar to what would have been used back in the 70's. They perform well for my needs and are not expensive.

Can the 4.0/18 tire be used instead of the 3.75/18 on the rear of my 1976 Cb550k?
Lawrence R on Jan 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: i would think, almost certainly. i cant promise you, but it's only 1/4 taller and from what i know, tolerances on the 550's aren't that close.

and i found this on the internet

The 1978 CB550k I bought recently came with brand new Dunlop K70 tires 3.25x 19 in the front, 4.0 x 18 in the rear.

he was only complaining because they were dry rotted, but was riding them. so, they'll probably fit. they're good tires.
I have a 1978 Suzuki gs750e. Do I need to purchase tubes with these tires or can they be run without?

Hello,

I own a 1975 Yamaha XS 650 I have a 19" 3.50 for the front and an 18" 4.00 for the rear. Do these come with tubes or do I need to purchase tubes as well or are these tubeless. So all I have to purchase are the tires and have them installed. I thought I read that they are tubeless tires please correct me if I am wrong, thank you.
null on Apr 26, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! These tires do not come with tubes, If you have spoke rims you will need to purchase inner tubes. If you do not have a spoke rim you will not need to buy tubes.

when was tire made?
A shopper on Aug 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! Unfortunately we are not able to guarantee that but we do know most if not all our tires are usually within a year of the manufacture date. We do not stock large amounts of tires at our location so most tires are shipped directly from the tire manufacturers closest warehouse to you. This would be the freshest stock they have on hand that is being shipped from these locations. We unfortunately do not have a way to verify which date you would get on your tire. All tires sold by BikeBandit.com are well within the manufacturers suggest shelf life for tires. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

How old are my tires?

1979 Kawaski KZ650, with only 13,000 miles on it. Bought it, June 2009. The former owner said, "all parts are original" How long do tires last? They look great, but looks can be deceiving. Is there a date on the tire, or some serial number that has some imbedded information?
Ladydi on Feb 8, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! When looking at tires we would not recommend riding on tires that are more than 5 years old, there will be a marking on the tire which will show the month and week this was built.
What size tire is the right ones for my 83 Kawasaki KZ550. Owners manual says 3.25H19 4PR Dunlop F8 Tubeless.
Jodypack on Dec 17, 2009
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! Your stock sizing according to Kawasaki would be 3.25 - 19 for the front and a 130/90-16 for the rear.
My OEM tires are 3.00x19 front, and 3.50x18 rear. Can I safely use the Dunlop K70 3.25x19 and 4.00x18? That is the closest match I can find.

I am working on a vintage 1971 CL 350 Honda. I need blackwall, tube-type tires with a retro looking tread pattern. There is room (both front and rear) for the slightly larger tire size, but I want to know if the additional width will affect the way the bead seats on the rim.
fxray on Oct 6, 2009
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! When you are trying to switch to this new sizing your going to want to take some measurements, for the width you want to make sure you have at least 10mm of clearance from hitting anything such as the swingarm in the rear or forks in the front.

Good vintage bike tire.
Good tread pattern. As close to OEM size I could find in a reasonably priced tire. Not made in China (made in Malaysia). Would prefer made in USA but could not find any vintage bike tires made in US. Look good on 1975 Honda CB550. Almost identical to the 30 year old T80s that were on it. Time will tell how durable they are.

It is what it is
I've been buying Dunlop K70 tires for my classic (now antique) BSA motorcycles for 45 years. K70 is the "correct" tire for these bikes. The modern Dunlops wear more quickly than the original made-in-England ones, and more quickly than some other more expensive brands such as Avon, but for the price of the Dunlops, I would just as soon change tires a bit more often. As far as Bikebandit goes, the website and purchase were straightforward, and service and delivery were timely.
