I've had a pair of these in the past and they are great tires, good grip and decent mileage out of them. They were sort of a toss-up as a second time purchase just because the back did flatten out way before the front was done(2 rears used, to 1 front), but at this close-out price its a no brainer

Was looking for a good tire for an HD XR1200. Since the XR comes with a goofy 18 inch front wheel, my options were limited for a matched pair. Had Roadsmart 3 before, and liked it.

How good are these tires?
A shopper on May 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: They're excellent for my bike. I ride a K1300S, sport touring MC. These tires have gripped in the tight Twisties and held up .. little to no chicken strips. I've put 7,000+ miles on them in all weather conditions and they show minimal wear. Including a trip across central Nevada in summer on some Twisties when I thought for sure they'd show significant wear and stress. Nope. Nothing but what you'd expect for routine mileage. I recommend these tires.
How good are these for cornering in dry conditions? I like to get the bike LOW
Logan c on Jun 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I just bought one of these tires but haven't mounted it yet. The current version they are selling is made in Thailand by Sumitomo.. I currently have one on my FZ1 that is about worn out but it was made in the USA a few years ago. I was so impressed with the performance that I decided to buy another one. I think they stopped making them for a while cause it was competing with the Roadsmart III. If it is the same formulation as the USA made one I think it would be a fine for most sport riding which is what I do.

I picked-up a 1993 Kawasaki Concours with 10 year old tires that I want to replace. The front tire (Dunlop Sportmax Touring 120/70 ZR 18 59W) looks like it can be replaced with a Dunlop Roadsmart II, sane specs. Please confirm. But the rear is a Dunlop Sportmax Touring 150/80 ZR 16 71W which might not be available anymore as discontinued (?) Assuming it's no longer available, what size tire can/should I replace it with? Riding style: ez cruizing, 61 year old guy, not interested in pushing any limits. Please advise. Thank you. Mike C
Mike C on Aug 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Mike, thank you for the question. Unfortunately, I do not have specs for the Dunlop Sportmax Touring Tire but as long as the load index and speed rating match or exceed what you currently have you will be fine. The Dunlop Roadsmart II tires are radial, have a load index of 59 (536 pounds) and a speed rating of W (max 168 mph). Before 1990, manufactures used "ZR" which meant they were high performance but were later refined to V, W, and Y. This tells us it is about the same on speed rating, you will need to determine the load index based off of the numbers on your sidewall and the specs on our website for the Roadsmart II. As for the rear, I am attaching a link to the select tires we offer in the 150/80-16 size: https://www.bikebandit.com/tires-tubes/dunlop-150-80-16-motorcycle-tires/t118jt0r

is this a dual compound tire? if not what is the name of the dunlop "dual compound"?
Cyclops on Nov 29, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Yes this tire is one of Dunlops dual compound tires. The Sportmax Qualifiers, Roadsmart II, are the 2 dual compound tires. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll free at 888-339-3888. We are more than happy to help.

Good exact replacement for original Dunlops
My 2003 Suzuki SV1000S had these as original equipment, and they were very good in rainy weather. Wear pretty well also. Did not want to take a chance on any others!

Works Well
I put a set of these tires on my 07 GSX650F Suzuki and then road in the mountain roads around Denver. The rear tire only required 1 oz of weights and the front required none at all. On the dry hot road surfaces these tires had a really great grip. Ran into a little rain during the day and so I slowed my pace a bit, although I didn't notice any loss of traction what so ever. With only 700 miles thus far I will say that I am very pleased with the performance of these tires. Will have to wait and see how they do after a few thousand or so.

Great for rolling around.
It was round and rolled good. I liked it. There weren't a lot of color choices but that's okay, black is my favorite.

Do the job
Came off the Michelin PR4 GT. It will be good to see how long these last comparitively. Feel good so far. Rain was not as sure footed as the PR4 and tar snakes seemed to wreak havoc with these. Overalll it is a smooth riding tire that I look forward to using for the next few months.
