Special compounds ensure higher braking performance on both wet & dry surfaces. Classic tread pattern is designed to prevent irregular wear and cupping. Multiple-Radius Contour Design is tuned specifically for the bias-tire touring segment and provides radial-type handling. This tire seems to be the Standard Replacement for the BMW Flying Brick.... while the compound is a little more on the "Soft" side, it does perform well for this motorcycle and seems to be the logical choice.

Can I run a Lasertec"H" tire on front and Lasertec"V" tire on rear of Harley custom build?
Frank S on May 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! The "H" & "V" are speed ratings, you can use a "V" &"H" on the same bike as long as you don't exceed the speed limit of the lower rated tire. differance between bias and radial tires ?
A shopper on Dec 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Bias ply tires have the layers of material wound around the circumference of the tire during the manufacturing process. Radial tires, as the name implies, have the (plys/plies?) Built up along the radius lines. It is a more difficult process to manufacture them in this manner, but they are stronger, last longer, and are less likely to "catch" on every crack and expansion joint in the road (at least this is true for automobile tires). For motorcycles, bias ply tires usually can handle heavier loads and have stiffer side walls, so they are generally installed in the front.
What tires would you recommend for a ‘72 BMW 75/5. I currently run older model Metzler tires. Would you go with H or V speed rating?
A shopper on May 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the question! I would go for the V rated tire, it all depends on your riding style. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll-free at 1-888-339-3888. How do you prevent dry rot?
A shopper on Jul 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for the question. When you're not using your motorcycle, avoid keeping your tires in direct sunlight. Dry and/or wet outdoor conditions will cause them to dry rot in extended periods of time. UV exposure and oxygen are the major degradation factors. If you are purchasing more than 2 and are storing tires, keep them in a dark room away from windows or direct sunlight. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll-free at 1-888-339-3888. We are always more than happy to help.
I have a 1979 GS550E, the bike currently has a 4.00-18 rear tire on it and it needs a new one. I know this is not the recommended size but am I safe buying another 4.00-18?
A shopper on Jun 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for the question, the 1979 Suzuki GS550E calls for a 3.75-18 from factory, but a 4.00-18 will work just fine. Have you had the chance to ride with the 4.00-18 currently on the bike? Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll-free at 1-888-339-3888. We are always more than happy to help
Seeking tires for 1970 BMW R75/5.

Old tires say tube-type. Guessing this old bike may have tubes.

Can I use tubes with these newer tubeless tires? Can you recommend a tube for front & rear?

Thanks for your time. Greatly appreciate the service.

Bike Bandit Rocks!!!
jim on Aug 1, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the question and the compliment. Yes you can run tube's in a tubless type tire. Fot the street I like the Bridgestone and the Michelin tubes.

can I run a tube (wire wheels) in a tubless tire?
null on Aug 17, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! Yes you can run a tube in a tubeless tire, that will not be an issue. You will have to run a tube in a tube type tire.
What sort of warranty does Metzeler offer on their tires?

What are the minimum recommended rim widths for the 100/90-18(front), the 110/90-18(front), and the 130/80-18(rear)? Thanks.
null on Aug 25, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! Unfortunately with the BikeBandit.com schematics this will not show testing or installation instructions we do apologize. To get this information we would recommend checking into your machines proper service manual.
Between the Metzeler ME 880 XXL and the Lasertec for my 2002 H-D FLTRI Road Glide. Any suggestions?
null on Jun 4, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! Between the two tires you are looking at the ME880 tires will definitely handle better on your machine compared to the Lasertec, both are very great tires but the ME880 would suite your machine alot better.
Hi: ON my Harley I have a MT 90 B16 71H size tire so what size does that convert to in your number?
Thank you
Mike
NoMercy on Jun 3, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! We have checked into this for you and show the MT90 would convert to a 130/90-16.
I cannot find the Metzler Lazertech tire sizes I need.

The most common Lazertech sizes sizes for older bikes( especially Airhead BMWs from 70s & early 80s) is 3.25x 19 front and 4.00x18 rear. Why don't you carry these sizes? I just bought a set from DK and suspect I paid more than you would have charged.
302stang on Mar 9, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! We have checked the sizes for you and show that we do offer that tire in the metric sizing of what you listed for the tires. We show the front is a 100-90x19 while the rear is a 120-90x18.

I have been riding street bikes and dirt bikes for over 45 years. If I can fit Metzelers on any of my bikes, 7, I will. They wear well and they perform well in all conditions. They are a great value for the money. Thanks Bandits for your help. The pirate.

Metzeler Lasertec on '99 K1100LT
I wish I could get more than 7,000 miles out of a set, but I can't. In those 7,000 miles the wear was even (no cupping). Sometimes I ride faster than the posted limits, but because I don't pretend I'm a racer, or on a prepared track, I've never fallen in a curve (even in the rain). These are good ol' bias ply tires that do their job.
